It is a very nice plan , sometimes its very difficult to add in a staging yard to a plan thats already completed. A double ended staging yard would be ideal, obviosly one end would be easy enough to add on its the other that would be the problem. To bad you couldn't decline to below the bench...

What you can try is break up the area for one thing like by putting doen some poly fiber. You can put down some dirt then go over that with ground foam and anything else you can get your hands on ,if its a strickly scenic area attach some rock mold casting or even real rocks. Best bet maybe to...

As for designing the layout for operations first thing I would want to do is decide how many industries you want that will be involved in the op sessions.For my layout its designed in such a way that near every industry utilizes wood or coal so each industry has a purpose. River , mountains...

I totally agree with the philosphy of do a bit stepping back for a day or even moving on to work on another area and thats the nice part of building up the scenery , you can do it at any pace and always bring in new techniques:mrgreen:

I got a few new ideas for placing structures in the area stuffy's was located. I think Stuffey's is quite comfortable in its new location I will be laying down the track for it and then comes some ground goop. Seafood emporium looks quite comfortable in this area over looking the river...

I think you'll get better results if you built it up in layers reather than all at once, there's reelly no such thing as too much ground cover although there is such a thing as too much of the same ground cover , try mixing it up a bit and don't be shy ground up some leaves and twigs, twine .:-D
