Trying to get an idea of how your layout is set up. I found your track plan overview but im not sure its the same size. If you can plz do a quick MS paint of your layout so i can get a idea of your track plan and what you can do with it.

I would use that small 1x4 area for your interchange spot.

Can you use Foam and still handlay track? Thats what I cant seem to understand how you can get away with useing Foam and still be able to have the spikes GRAB into the foam.

And just looking at your trackplan I would suggest doing double track mainline all the way around. That way you can just sit back and have trains going bothways and all you do is relax. It looks to me that you have the layout space and the $$$ to make it a 2 track mainline with some nice...

Also if you wanna drop a bridge in your layout im sure you can just Cut out a section and Lower It. Very easy task...again let me know if u need help.

Ya the TH&B thing is just a name rather than what really is there. Its the interchange with canada rather than just the TH&B. Those tracks are able to be about 20 feet long if i needed them to be. Im going to make them around 6 feet long with a runaround.

What you could do Miles is model a single town with a interchange to the rest of the world. You can Stage trains in the hidden yard then pull them into the town and switch loco's to your own railroad to do the local switching. You can have many different industries which you can have loaded...
