I made a posting earlier with some photos from the York Railway Modellers in Toronto….

There was a request for more photos of Kitchener station and the Quarry area, so here they are plus a couple of others....
First is on old photo of Kitchener Station before...
This station was scratchbuilt using plaster molds as were most of the stations on the layout. It is a model of the Kitchener station in Kitchener, Ontario. I don't have any other photos right now. I'll take some more of all the stations next time I am there.
Very Interesting photo. Can you tell us where and when it was taken?
Up until now, the longest "Canadian" I had seen was about 26 cars with 2 "Skyline" dome cars. This train has 3 or is it 4! Is it a Via Rail Canadian?
Yes, I am a member of the club. All the stations were scratchbuilt by one member. (Mike Mason) He used a using a plaster casting technique for the larger stations. Here are some more potos stations taken before I got the DSLR:
Streetsville
Baden
Woodstock
Galt
Yes, it is HO handlaid track and turnouts. You have a good eye.
I never much liked the name for the club. "York" was chosen because it is the original name for Toronto and the club is located in an area of Toronto called North York.
Here is a link to the club website:

Since I got my DSLR I have been more into photography than modelling. Here are a few photos from the club on friday as I followed around a CPR Pacific:
The Nikon D70s is a digital SLR and doesn't really have a "Macro" setting. It has a "Close-up" setting but that won't be enough to get the results you want.
Here are some tips:
1) Don't use flash. Use only available room lighting.
2) Set the camera to A (aperture priority.) use the...
That is what I was thinking too. I had a Canon EOS 630 and some lenses just sitting on a shelf for the last 4 years. I decided to take the plunge and get a used Canon Digital SLR that could use the same lenses.
There are some great deals out there for used DSLR's that are only a few years old...
I just bought a new (second hand) Canon Digital SLR and tried it out at the club. The seller also had a 18-55mm lens he didn't need so I got both a Canon 10D 6mp and the 18-55mm lens for $405 USD.
Here is a shot of my friend's new brass Division Point J-7c CNR Pacific and links to the rest of...
A trick I use with heavyweight passenger cars is to remove the center axle. This improves the tracking on rough areas of track and cuts down on derailments considerably.
On your SD24 you could try to take apart the 3-wheel truck and then modify the middle axle. It may be possible to remove the...
AHM used to import Rivarossi. I think the owners of AHM became the owners of IHC.
IHC's passenger cars are vaguely similar to Rivarossi, but they are not the same. They are a mishmash of fictitious cars that do not look quite right. The heavyweights in particular are not accurate for any...
I don't think IHC bought anything from Tyco. IHC is basically an importer. Most of thier locos come from Mehano. Mehano may have bought some old Tyco molds. The SD24 is an old Tyco body but Mehano doesn't list it so who knows?
There are some differences in the product line of IHC and...
Justin, can you explain what you mean by "TYCO's made it over to IHC"? And what is MFG?
Also, you are a little behind the times. IHC Diesel Locomotives (made by Mehano) now have flywheels and all-wheel drive. They run quite well...
