    train stuff hard to find (a rant)

    I am lucky to have local hobby shops close enough to go to. Phils hobby shop, Hobbyland & 1st place hobbies all are within 50 minutes of me. I find by the time I pay shipping for online items it all equals out.

    Best wishes on a healthy recovery for your grandson Rick. School was closed for all of northeast Indiana today, so I got a day off to be made up at a later date. I went to school anyway to take care things that do not seem to get done when school is in session. Everyone have a great day I did.:D

    Waiting on 6-8 inches of snow, maybe a delay or no school at all tommorrow. After 32 years of teaching the delays are nice to get a little extra sleep.

    Twenty years ago I use to like the snow days, but now we have to makeup days missed. The 2 hour delays are a much better option, you at least get to sleep in. This year we have only had one 2hr delay. :cry: I can only look foward to Feb. 19 when have no school because it is used as a makeup for...

    Rick here is the picture of the 2-8-8-2 I also included MTH K4 and Broadway limited 4-8-2 that is the start of my steam locomotives for the Cedar Creek RR. I told my wife that I need 12 more locomotives to fill the roundhouse she didn't agree.:cry: now all I have to do is get the basement done...

    I went to hobbyland today. The store pretty much wiped out of train stuff, I did buy some train figures. Prices are about the same as going online so I'll make some more trips when they restock.

    I think December was the last show unless they rerun or make new ones. I do not see it listed on the programing guide anymore for a show time.

    How did you get into the hobby?

    I was first exposed to it 1959 when my brother and I found our older brother's train set in a box and got it out. We played with it alot until we got in trouble for getting into his stuff that was being saved.
