    Railpictures.net

The screeners at Railpictures.net are tough, but if you know what they want you will get accepted. I have 655 photos on the site and still get rejected every once and a while. Another good site is http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/ They are easier to post to. They accept almost anything trains...

Push Me Over the Top !

I have a small (compared to a lot of other layouts I've operated on) shelf type switching layout. Heck its 8'x12' L shaped with a 6' extension. Before I switched to DCC I could run with two operators with a yard crew working the interchange. But that was it! It was always "whos got my train or...

    A question about Conrail's SD80MAC's

Hee Hee! Well it wasn't so bad. I managed to get a raise, a new company vehicle and a great boss. CSX decided to contract out all except company owned scales to Rail Scale Inc. a wholely owned CSX sub. None of the CR scale inspectors that went to CSX kept their scale jobs. One is a B&B foreman...

    A question about Conrail's SD80MAC's

We all thought CSX & NS would make some kind of deal to keep the 80mac's together on CSX, but it didn't work out that way. The two roads HAD to split everything 58%-NS 42%-CSX. When I say everything, it was everything right down to the employees. In my dept...Scales we had 8 inspectors... NS-5...

    A question about Conrail's SD80MAC's

The SD80MAC has a 20 cylinder powerplant that neither CSX or NS wanted. That and the fact that NS didn't want AC's at all might have had something to do with the move. NS got SD70's and CSX went with the 70MAC. John D.

    Do You........

DCC all the way. When I started the new railroad I installed 18 gauge buses just in case. About 5 weeks ago I bought a Prodigy on E-Bay. Its great and easy to use. I'll never go back to DC. My railroad is small. Its an 8' X 6' X 12' shelf type switching railroad and although I operate by...

    Altoona Railfest 2004 Getting Closer

From what I've heard, NS said no excursions account curve is too busy with trains. If its still like it was when I was out there in June for Railroaders Day, I believe it!:thumb: John D.

Anyone using the MRC Prodigy DCC System AD150

Basementdweller, You may be right about the Prodigy sound. I don't use the sound and most likely won't for some time. My railroad is a small branch type set in the fifties and operates with three PK-2 Alco S1 switchers. Not much room for a decoder much less sound. The Prodigy was almost...

Anyone using the MRC Prodigy DCC System AD150

I have the Prodigy and for what I wanted it's great. It can accept up to four controlers and is easy to program. It will operate the bell and whistle. Like others have stated it uses a two number address from 1-32. Trains must use the regular controller and to throw switches you must have a...
