Came across this in the summer when railfanning CP in the Rocky Mountains. At the hold tracks leading into the Swing Bridge at Sicamoose I noticed this handy method for keeping a switch broom handy for snow removal on those cold winter days.

High water in the Shusap Lakes made passage under the Sicmoose Swing Bridge impossible is past June of 2002. Therefore CP did extra wait time so that the House boats could transit the Sicamoose Narrows.
