Its both sound and motor/function control, The motor will work still and the light functions work, just not the sound

I have both the steam and dieseal decoders. The steam decoder works great but the dieseal one has a problem. It worked pretty good for an hour overall use then the motor sound cut out. I can still here one or two of the functions when used. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks

I am looking to buy the Digitrax Zephyr to start off my DCC experience. I want to buy the UT4 throttle with it. The Zephyr has 8 functions and the UT4 allows for 12 functions. My question is will I still only have 8 fuctions even from the UT4. I thought I would but just wondering. Thanks
