Success!!! Went up to Nanaimo again a couple weeks ago, and the photos turned out. A pair of GP38's pull a short freight just north of Nanaimo.

The lead unit is an SW1200, as was mentioned above. The trailing unit is an SW1500 and is also available in HO through Athearn.

I've got several good photos of the VIA Rail RDC's. Most of them are recent shots taken on the E&N Railway.

There has been no official release yet, but parent Company, Rail America Inc. has found another excursion operator to pick up where Ross Rowland's Pacific Wilderness Railway company failed. Michican based Coe Rail is the new operator. Coe Rail plans to use the old BC Rail Pacific Starlite Dinner...

They were purchased by CP and used by Ontario Hydro. CP had the contract with Ontario Hydro to handle the rail service for their power plants. CN later got the contract including the locomotives. They were numbered in the 5300 series. Some were sold back to CP and others were retired.

As of yesterday(Sunday), 9 trestles had gone up in flames.

Another trestle has gone up in flames. And the decking on the steel bridge at mile 87.9 has burned too. Trestles 3-7, 9 and 10 are now gone.
