    Berryville & Summit Point Ry

Hello, I am in the process of building a layout in a room I built in the garage of the new home my wife and I moved into. The layout listed under my profile is the old one at the other house. While preparing the house for sale that layout was taken apart and as much saved as possible. I...

    Mikado problem

Hello, I finally have the new layout at a point where I can run a complete loop while finishing the rest of the track work. All my power runs well on the track, (diesel and steam) and through the turnouts EXCEPT my two Mikado's. They stop at exactly the same places on the layout and spin...

    Lashups

absnut, I purchased a pkg of MT 2002 couplers from local hobby store for the Mikado and will work on it hopefully this weekend. The young man who does their shop work said it shouldn't be too hard to do. There are extra coupler box tops in the pkg. thinner than the cover on the assemblied...

    Lashups

Hello, I have 2 Bachmann 2-8-0's and 2 Kato Mikado locos that I would like to MU (lashup) but they all have the small, non-working coupler in the pilot. Is anyone doing what I want to do and if so, how? I checked the MT web site and they don't list a conversion for these locos. I have...

    Grounding

Thank you for the responses to my question. I have installed a GFI between switch and first outlet coming off switch. The Power Adapter has 3 prong plug and I know the circuit where it is plugged into is grounded at the entry box. Received Zephyr Friday and successfully tested the...

    Grounding

Paul, Thank you. I was concerned but now understand why there isn't a reference to grounding in the Zephyr manual. I will still install GFI wall sockets even if only to make me "feel safer".

    Grounding

Hello, I am waiting for my Zephyr to arrive within the next day or two and have a question with regard to "grounding" the unit so I don't get an electrical schock if something goes bad. I have read the manual on line at the Digitrax site but I couldn't locate any reference to this subject. If...

    Determining Mile Posts

Hello, I was wondering what method is used to determine MP miles on a model railroad. If I was modeling a part of a prototype (real) railroad I suppose I would use actual MP distances. I'm modeling a freelance N scale layout, no time period, no specific railroad. If I like the way an engine...

    Test track

bilik The hinge is something I will do for the grade. Hadn't thought about calibrating but good idea. shamus, If I do attach gage permanently to track will cut both tracks at gage to prevent short. Not my idea, something I saw somewhere on the web. Thanks for the imput.

    Test track

Hello, I want to build a test track using Atlas N flex-track and mount it to a board. I plan to permanently attach a MT coupler gauge to one end with coupler pin plate as well. I want to be able to raise one end to check for rolling characteristics of cars. Is there anything else I should be...
