A couple months ago I bought a Kato SD90MAC and SD40-2 and matching Digitrax decoders.
As I've posted before they just do not like my 9 3/4" turn and not even some 11" when backing up. As great running locos they are I'm thinking about selling them:( :( What getting better resuults...
Not sure how to help you, but in the future assuming you live:p , get a 3M breathing mask. They in every paint store, dept, hardware, etc...
I have asthma and need to have they around.
I kind of like plastic myself. Mainly because they are less likely to short going through switches. I've got a few cars with metal wheels that short once in a while and bring everything to a stop when the command station cuts power.
I went to my first show/swap meet a few weeks ago. It was advertised to be open from 10am to 4pm. I got there about 2pm and some of the dealers were already starting to pack up, it was a big show, but I've ben to one before so I can be sure. And by the time I waked the four rows some of the...
It's a Kato, ditch light are included. The steet lights I made myself though. I should have had my Atlas SD60M in there, it has ditch lights I added, they flash too!:)
Looks good!
For me I've found the using existing lighting works better for closeups, the flash on my Fuji A200 isn't really meant for tight work.
Take a look in the N scale forum of the photo I posted there with the subject "a place to sleep"
I won't be in a hurry to cut that 4' x 8' board in half. I got back into trains about 1.5 year ago. I started with 2.5' x 5' I've added on to it twice, first adding another 5 x 3 section and just a few weeks ago after moving and 5 new sections/tables give me about 100' of main line (see my...
Thanks for the nice comments.
I've been lurking around for a while. I've been checking out different message board sites, some aren't vary active. I wish they had a DCC forum, but I guess the Tech forum covers that(?)
Zug is a name I used to use for playing game online, it just came to...
Thanks for all the replies guys. I'm going o try the body mouted boxcar coupler and se what happens. Everything else about the town loop checks out. All track is standard sections, no flex track.
Maybe that'll help the switching yard entrance too. The raised hill on the expansion section...
The turn it 9 3/4" it the inner loop around the town, there picture on my layout page at http://train.kenttimm.com.
I'm uin MT long couples, the onse listed for it on the MT converstion charts.
Iv checked the wheel and track with my MT n-cale guage, everythin is the right spacing and the...
I haven't been feeling that great the last couple day, I have bad kness, back etc. WHile I have stationary decoders I usually only use them for computer operation with ZugDCC. But I moved a month ago and haven't got a computer in the train room yet, so I have been running switches manually...
I have two Katos, a SD90MAC and SD40-2, I run them with the SD90 in the lead. The like good at derailing stuff. they can't go to the inner loop of the two in the original part of my layout. each can go one at a time, but together the SD40-2 gets flipped off the track by the SD90 as it come...
Do you run local railroads on your layout or locos from a different area?
I started out with Santa Fe when I got back into trains 1.5 years ago, I then got a couple CP's a couple months ago, while they great looking (SD90 & SD40-2) and run well, I can see real CP at the local CP yards, SF on...
