    Question about clearance.

    As far as the trestles go you might want to look here http://www.blackbearcc.com/ You can print out some of the plans to get an idea of height ect. If you can use some flex track on the trestles part, might look better. Dave

    I got it working. After checking everything with a meter and rechecking I realized that the engine had no weight. I pushed down with my finger and it ran! This was a new engine, I didn"t think to clean the wheels and contacts. Sometimes its the simple things that drive you nuts. Dave

    Tapping Holes in White Metal

    Thanks for the help. Al at B & F Hobbies suggested to make a new main frame out of brass. The frame that came with the kit is white metal. After cutting a hole for the gear box there is not a lot of metal left for support. So fo now I am in the process of cutting a new brass base. DP.
