    JSC's Shimakaze-The Hard way

While working on the basement as per "the others" order #976 for the year, I unearthed a project that was just about done. This was JSC's Shimakaze originally printed in 1/400 scale but enlarged and detailed to 1/250. With all the H2O based models hitting the site I thought it would be about...

    Quality of Fly Model's Ship?

I second the motion, Digital Navys Arizona is the best out there. You can buy the cd pront off all you want, and I think Roman has preprinted ones as well. The Fly Portland is pretty decent, the Tone is very good but dated for detail, most of their current and newer releases are very good...

    Quality of Fly Model's Ship?

The Fly Saratoga was an OK model but lacks the detail of the GPM kit. It is also out of print which makes it sometimes hard to find and some owners want a premium. I'd go with the GPM offerings for either CV3 or 2.

    Quality of Fly Model's Ship?

Which Saratoga, CV3 or CVA 60? I ask because if you are looking for the WW2 ship GPM makes an excellant modernized Saratoga with camo scheme and 5' guns instead of the prewar 8". They also have the Lexington in Prewar garb with the 8" guns and a herd of biplanes. The Modern Sara is a huge...

S.M.S. Schleswig Holstein, GPM, 1:200, Full hull

Great looking so far Flu! I started in ships also, now you and Ski are starting to "wet my appetite" for something to build nautical. Beejay, maybe when he said liner, he meant a Ship of the Line in very old Nautical terms.

    P-models A-6

Barry, check the PModel web site, they have a little wooden door icon that leads to detailed pics of all their models. I haven't run into a PModel that wasn't great!

    Mi-28 HAVOC

SteveO, anything on the planet is collectable to the right people. I saw a "collection" of Mr. Peanut objects go for 100s of US dollars at an auction once. God only knows what they saw in a peanut butter advertisement Icon but one man's trash is another's treasure and all that. As for being...

    1mm cardstock... where in calfornia?

There is a great source but you have to go ask. Go to a hospital or outpatient xray facility and ask them for the cardboard backing from the film boxes. This is great, clean and almost exactly 1mm and most important, free! They foolishly throw the stuff out!

    JSC 1:400 North Carolina Build

Ski, instead of stick glue, perhaps the spray adhesive might be a bit better and easier to apply. Alot of us use this for our laminations. Just a suggestion.

Fantastic job Andrew! How was the parts fit? This hull was their triangular piece fit thru the hull bukheads, how did that go? As Barry posted, more pics!
