    Dragos' Miles M.52 in 1/72

When I was getting ready to mount the tailplanes, I discovered a problem. Even though the joint on the underside matched up perfectly, the tail was just not looking right. Viewed from the back, I could see that all the tail plane mounting indicators were off. When I did some measurements I found...

    Dragos' Miles M.52 in 1/72

I moved on to the wings. I cut out the wing spar and formers, and glued one former in place. While it was drying, I cut slots in the fuselage sides to accept the spar. I glued the former to the side of the fuselage, and then slid the other one into place and glued it as well. The right...

    Dragos' Miles M.52 in 1/72

I've got the fuselage all together. Absolutely no problem with the fit of any of the components. Nice job Dragos! I've started to work on the wings, but before I go, here's a couple of quick shots of the completed fuselage - nose first, then tail first. More to come.

    Dragos' Miles M.52 in 1/72

I've made some progress. To start, I glued all the bulkheads and formers to thin cardboard < .5mm using Elmers. While they were drying, I cut out and rolled the fuselage skins. One of the benefits of working in a small scale is that you can often get away without using tabs or glue strips. The...

    Dragos' Miles M.52 in 1/72

Hi all. Dragos was kind enough to send me the file for his newly designed Miles M.52 after I had expressed interest in the model, so I decided to document my build. I don't know if Dragos (or anyone else) has built the model, so I'm not sure if this is an alpha or a beta build. My favorite scale...

    Inspired by Paragon

Many thanks Dragos. I will send you a PM. I have built a few other British experimental airplanes from WWII in 1/72, so this will be a welcome addition. I did a little research on the M.52 after seeing your thread - a very interesting bird. I think the usual British experimental colors of yellow...

    Inspired by Paragon

That's a really interesting looking British X-plane you have going there, Dragos. Is the wider ring just behind the cockpit glazing the intake for an internal jet engine? I'd like to take a crack at building this one. Looking forward to your continued development.

    Darth Vader model !

Very well designed and nicely animated! Many paper figures are kind of stiff, but this one has a really fluid and natural pose. Please tell me that much of it is done as a "white" model with mid grey outlines and score lines so that it can be printed on black cardstock. I'd love to build it in...

    1/72 PZL P.50/I Jastrzab

Greetings all! I thought I'd share a few photos of one of my recent builds with the forum - the PZL P.50 Jastrzab (Hawk) by Maly Modelarz. This is a vintage model that I scanned, shrunk down, and made a few simple Photoshop improvements to. The onset of war halted development of the P.50...

    1/72 Sukhoi Su-1

Thank you for your kind comments, gents . Kancho's designs often throw the builder a curve, and I'll admit the wing fairings had me worried. The fairing piece is just a single scary looking, but well designed part that fairs in both wings simultaneously. It starts out under the chin of the...

    1/72 Sukhoi Su-1

This model of the Russian high altitude fighter prototype was designed by Kancho Iliev, and can be downloaded for free at his site http://paperwings.phobby.com/index.php?CMD=9 There are two pages of parts, but no instructions. He offers a bit of a challenge. "This kit is like a puzzle - You got...

    1/100 Trotskiy models

Your Bloch 152 looks great! You've done my base proud. To answer your question, I usually put the flag/insignia/coat of arms of the country that the specific aircraft is serving under on the top of the base. Squadron or air regiment emblems could be done also. Here's my model of the 1/100...

    1/100 Trotskiy models

I've built a couple of Mr Trotskiy's fine models over the past few months in the hopes of luring him back (sort of like those Pacific Islanders who made up wicker airplanes to curry the favor of the big metal birds who had visited them in the past). Doesn't appear to be working so far. I hope...

    Warrior Bug

Terrific looking bug, Paragon! SST was one of the few movies I've seen more than twice. I've been wondering when someone would get around to modeling one. I'm thankful that you've taken the bull by the horns. I'm looking forward to building one when you make it available. Many thanks, Don

    KFL 1/300 ironclad Huascar

Not a bad looking model for $2.99. There's quite a bit of detail for a small model - 9" or so in length I'm guessing. You did a nice, neat job. I'm sure that in the currency of "enjoyment per dollar" it was a real bargain. Are the masts rolled paper? If so, even more impressive. Regards, Don

Le Courbet French battle cruiser from Modelik

Terrific looking build so far. The hull cladding stayed nice and tight. It often gets a bit "baggy" looking between the formers from handling. I have a couple of ship models in my to do pile, but I find them very intimidating, and have never gone further than opening the kit and admiring the...

    mortar boat no.10 build

Great looking little model! Your modifications really make it "pop". I love one day projects like this - especially when they come out looking as good as your mortar boat does. Regards, Don

    Looking for an Armored car?

I could be wrong, but I think there is some confusion here over the abbreviation RR. (Rolls Royce vs railroad).
