Perfect! You guys are awesome. Great advice, perfect link, with photos! I hadn't even taken into consideration anything catching on the center rails. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Hook

    Bridge Track

Thanks man, guess I'll have to get a good picture of what they look like and start fabricating my own. I planned on scratch building my bridge so I wanted to make sure the rails going over looked right. Hook

Can't really help you there but I would suggest you start a new thread and ask the same question, you may get more replys if it is in a new thread. Good luck. :thumb: Hook

    Bridge Track

I'm running Atlas code 100 track. I have seen bridge track that has the double rail on each side. Not sure what it is called. Does anyone know of a source for buying this type track to put over bridges? I didn't see any through Atlas. Thanks, Hook

    Making Progress

Things are moving along. Stuff showing up every day. Just got word that the Digitrax DCC system shipped today. Placed my order today for the BLI Light 2-8-2. I need to get my layout figured out and get the track placement going. I have the deck done and set up some track and Squeak has been...

    18 inch radius

I figured they were bigger, didn't realize it was that much. The horses figured out that the canal is empty and found a way out, could have used your help rounding them back up, all is well now, back to the train shack, several more goodies showed up today via door to door delivery, man I love...

I don't think I saw a wash rack when I went to the site? I just saw a bunch of engines on the track. If there were wash racks I didn't notice them I guess. Have to go look again. Hook

I think I'm opting to modify the Steam Engine instead of the Delorean like they did in BTTF 2 or 3 which ever one it was. :) What scale are the little hot wheels & matchbox cars compared to HO? Too big? PS You could still be a cowboy, come on out to Idaho and I'll put you to work, got...

I'm with ya on the cost. 130.00 for a powered crossing seems pretty expensive for a little toy like that. Hard to understand where the cost is. I'm thinking I may give an attempt at building my own as far as crossing gates, not sure about making them function but lighting them and all...

My attempts at directional layout lighting

That is really interesting, being new to model railroading I hadn't even thought of that aspect. This never ends does it. :D Hook

Awesome website, thanks, what's a wash rack? It worked but I still don't have an idea of what it is. The pictures it pulled up weren't what I was expecting when I typed in wash rack but they are awesome. Hook

Doesn't surprise me but with time travel and all after "Back to the Future" I should be fine. I guess if it puts any of the little HO people of Squeakville in shock I'll put in an institution to take care of the issues and bring back some of todays modern therapists to make sure the Squeakville...

    Digitrax

That makes it a lot clearer. :thumb: The room is 10X12 and after the deck was installed there isn't a lot of room for wandering around so I'll try the corded version for awhile and see if the IR is something beneficial. Cost would be an issue as well I guess as far as how much convenience it...

Thanks a bunch Rio :thumb: appreciate all the advice. It's one thing to go on an adventure but going blind is an entirely different thing. If it weren't for the internet I don't think I would have ever attempted this adventure. You guys are my eyes  that's for sure. Hook

    Digitrax

Might be something Loy does I'm not sure, as for the IR I had paid any attention so I just went and read it and it says it is IR Ready you just have to add the U90 what ever that is and add batteries to the handheld. Hook

    Accessories

Not that I'm at the accessory point yet but that is my next line of thinking so I'll throw out a few questions (quite a few) in order to get started so I can start looking at what I need to study up on and what I need to start pricing. If I run some street lights, crossing gates, swimming pool...

    Digitrax

Ordered the Zephyr with the coiled cord 300 series hand held. Here we go, wish me luck on the wiring. I've read that you need boosters to beef up the power, if I'm only running 2 engines on a 10X12 L shaped layout will I need a booster? Can you add a booster to the Digitrax Zephyr if the...

    18 inch radius

Kind of a catch 22 I guess. The first stage was the deck (after I built the "Train Shack") and I was building an L shaped deck in the 10 X 12 Shack so I asked a lot of questions on size and height and I was assured that I didn't want it to be wider than 3 feet or I would hate it as it would be...
