Help w/ Steel track !!!! RAssafrasign ()*^in sa

great info in this thread. since I am doing my layout with mostly old hand me down brass track, I am sure I will find this useful. I read a cleaning instruction somewhere I need to find, it supposedly uses stuff that reduces need to clean to MONTHS literally. hmmm

    Ok, here goes..........

you're right about that. I am already having to rethink part of this because even though the layout says 8x4 its really 8x4-9. But I think I can tighten things up a little, these engines seem to be able to take very tight curves, so maybe that will help! Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for the complements! I am glad it is turning out usable. I am not sure Gordon and Henry will even go all the way in but its no big deal, it will serve my sons purpose. Back to work on the roof structure part. Want to make it removable so I can run lights later and perform track...

    The beginnings of a roundhouse

Well, I gave up waiting to find the perfect items and tried to use the instructions someone gave me... I jus grabbed everything I could find in the house that could be considered construction materials and off I went. Pretty much "freestyle" - I just measured the trains I needed in it and...

    Tunnel access

I kind of figured maybe just some sort of retrieval device- like a long stick with a padded hook of some sort to snag a part of the train an pull it to me. But I was also going to test and retest and troubleshoot that part of the track as much as possible so that would be the least likely spot...

    Keystone area in Colorado

Psychosomatic, dear. I was one of the first RESPONDING EMERGENCY units on the scene. Plus they didnt have conclusive anything for a while of course. So the initial speculation had to do with the cold temps (this was a rare occurrance blizzard there) and high moisture, blah blah blah. So it...

    What's Up with Hobby Lobby?

Yeah, I have grown up with Kroger. But many of their items are 2x the price of things at Walmart. I shop everywhere but Walmart when things are good... but sometimes we go through times when things arent so good... so I shop Walmart. Also, if anyone else has grocery trouble (maybe because...

    Very sad abandoned locomotives

well fortunately he is fascinated with real trains, he just identifies with the personalities given to the thomas characters and knows the stories so he is able to reenact them. At the live steamer event the really old steamers got his attention the best... I just hate to see this as I am...
