Thanks guys For them's that wants to know, here's how I did the 'wire and seafoam' trees. Get some lengths of stiff wire (find a flower arranger) and twist together Twist the wire into several bundles and keep splitting the bundles as you twist, until you end up with a tree-like object...

I just picked up some Genesis steamers from a friend - lovely models but some of them don't run, although I was well aware of this when I bought them. This is particularly strange as the locos look like they have hardly been run, and haven't even had the parts bags opened. The problem...

They are plastic kits by 'Emhar' My son put the kit together, only trouble is that it is 1/72, rather than 1/76, so it overhangs the flat car sides slightly. Jon

Dick, the snow is Dulux Matt paint, although the fields have a sprinkling of Woodland Scenics 'snow' applied while the paint is still wet. The shrubs are mainly WS clump foliage and their ordinary foliage, although there is some rubberised horsehair in there somewhere too. Jon

Yup, I tend to pin the track down and glue the ballast in place with dilute wood glue. When dry, I remove the pins and let the ballast hold the track in place. When I want to lift the track, the glue can be softened with a spray of water, even after more than a decade. Jon

Thanks chaps and chapesses. The snowscene is my British 00 scale layout, although US visitors do occasionally visit. I'll hunt down a how-to on the snow that I did a while back. In the meantime, here's a couple more pics. Jon
