If I finish repairing my old Philco, I'll add a lake to my layout. I just finished the base but it still needs a few details, like seaweed, pebbles, some fishies, a small pier, sunken boats, a sunken Model T, sea serpent, etc.And if all goes well, I'll begin construction on my layout extension.

I too thought it was real until I realised the engine is a Bachmann 2-8-0. It's a beautiful scene.

As far as I know, the only way to make a "steam" engine to smoke is to install a smoke generator in it. The down side to that is that the smoke tends to settle on the layout forming these oily deposits all over the place. Unless you get yourself one of those Hornby OO scale live steamers.

Hello folks! It's good to be back 'ere. I haven't logged in for nearly a year... Now, I'm currently in the process of repainting an old Life-Like stock car for my own railroad and I need to know what kind of data was painted on these cars besides reporting marks weights and construction date...

I printed the full size trackplan on several sheets wich I later trimmed and pasted on the layout. Afterwards I laid the roadbed on top of that and so on.

Most Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars are in 1/64 or 1/48 scale, it comes molded in the bottom.

As far as I know, several coal-burning steam engines were converted to oil burners by simply replacing the coal bunker with an oil one. The only change (at least tha I have noticed) in the loco's appearance is that the firebox is completely closed.
