One of the things I like about passenger cars is the intricate detailing that comes with it inside and out. One day I started to fiddle around with random wires and other stuff I had laying around the workbench and added some end details to an HO scale Bachmann observation car: Simply...

If I finish repairing my old Philco, I'll add a lake to my layout. I just finished the base but it still needs a few details, like seaweed, pebbles, some fishies, a small pier, sunken boats, a sunken Model T, sea serpent, etc.And if all goes well, I'll begin construction on my layout extension.

#4 steaming out of the tunnel

As far as I know, the only way to make a "steam" engine to smoke is to install a smoke generator in it. The down side to that is that the smoke tends to settle on the layout forming these oily deposits all over the place. Unless you get yourself one of those Hornby OO scale live steamers.

Info on oil fireing conversions of steam.

As far as I know, several coal-burning steam engines were converted to oil burners by simply replacing the coal bunker with an oil one. The only change (at least tha I have noticed) in the loco's appearance is that the firebox is completely closed.
