    My Z-Scale SD45

Btw, last friday I purchased this beauty :D It's the Central Control 2000 from Trix. I bought it at Eurospoor 2003, a dutch model railway event. For only $50, and they sell these new at around $250! :D It's possible for me to run 9 locomotives in dcc with it. I'll be fine for now and I...

Problem with ballasting - need advice

Hello people, I've just layed the main line on my module and it might be smart for me to ask this first before I continue with balasting it completely. I use a small strip of cork, it's 12mm wide and 1,5 mm thick which fits exactly under the rail. (it's Z-scale) When adding ballast I...

    My Z-Scale SD45

Thanks guys! pray59, I used 0.3mm electric wire to elevate my track. I ordered some uncoupler magnets and I got to wait for them before I can continue my work on the inner yard. It'll take 2 weeks for them to get here so it will take a while before I post new pics.

    Need help with planning yard

Thanks for the input guys! I made a new design: Good one Ralphe, the extra track was intended for holding a locomotive(s) which are waiting to get on the yard if the turntable is occupied. But I can see an additional function now as Ready Track for a switcher that comes of the engine...

    Need help with planning yard

Hello fellow model railroaders. I'm planning the 2 prime modules and I need a little criticism and comments. I'm pretty satisfied with the plan as it is now. I've been using this site as a guideline: http://www.housatonicrr.com/yard_des.html This is the totall view of the 2 modules (RIP...

    My Z-Scale SD45

I've been working on my layout. You can see I'm busy with the yard. After seeing SD90s layout I just had to add a siding! It does add some extra operating fun :) The siding alows a train with 2 loco's and 17 cars, I hope that's enough for me :)

    Wright Turnouts for Z

Well then the wright turnout is the best choice. I've read very positive reviews about this turnout. Some locomotives seemed to stall on a Marklin switch, this problem is fixed at the wright turnout.

    Wright Turnouts for Z

Eventually the wright turnrouts will be more expensive because you got to buy some extra electronics to make it switch. I'm using the Marklin turnouts which work right out of the box and they have about the same price. Marklin's are just fine. I'm going through your photo album right now...

    My Z-Scale SD45

The first 2 tables are up but I'm going to adapt them. I've designed a simple rule for my tables: The length should be devideable by 50cm and the width is free. I think it's important to add this rule because when I'm going to live on my own I need to be able to easely install and fit them into...
