Alan, I think you are on the right track. If you want to keep the turntable to turn the occasional engine, why not, you don't need any tracks coming off of it except the one from the mainline, this would cut down on the area you need for it. I think everyone has given you some great input and...

I have 2 Tom, I like Russ can haul 4 cars on a 2% grade. I did put a N scale decoder in mine without much problem. I am still not real happy with them, they are better than the old ones but they could do better. One of mine sometimes just quites running for a few seconds and then takes off...
