    Help w/ N plan for 36"x80" door

The 'advanced' door layout The main problem I have with the KGB&W is the lack of space for scenery.... almost the whole area is covered with track.

    Getting started!

that was part of the plan all along :) As of right now, the inglenook is wired and working. Spent a little time with the switching game this afternoon...which doesn't really get too old. I will need to solder the power connection though. Once I get all the track joined together Im...

Most likely The most likely pulling power for 1950s-60s Passenger equipment is an F or E unit of some kind. (FA/B, F3, F7, E8, E9)

Train Shack Complete Ready for layout.

The 15" curves _are_ small, but short, switcher engines (like the SW9/1200), small steamer (0-4-0. 0-6-0, and maybe a 2-6-0 and 4-4-0) and short cars (40 foot boxcars, 34' shorty 'beer can' tankers, etc) will work on it. in 4.5 ft, if you expand your turn space, you can use the 22" curves...

    Help w/ N plan for 36"x80" door

This is the door layout as I built it. a VERY long fake doubletrack folded dogbone. the mainline is a scale 1.25 miles! The large mountain and the woodland scenics risers made a great viewblock. The switching area forms a reversing loop. I kept it fully electrically isolated and it was...

    Help w/ N plan for 36"x80" door

A couple more 'run-n-switch' plans This one I call 'Monza Loop' because it vaguely resembles that racetrack: by changing the 19" radius curves in the upper half of the crossover to turnouts it becomes a twice around *and* a double track! It has a long branchline with switching and a small...

    Help w/ N plan for 36"x80" door

Doors! with a 36"x80 door, you should be able to handle radii up to 17" with ease. as 85-90% of N scale traverses 9.75" radii and almost all the rest handles 11" you should be good to go with this. Mike's small trackplans has a number of 30x78 door plans. with 36" you can widen the radii a...

    My new plan.

Agreed I'm afraid I'll have to agree with Woodie: there is no way you'll fit that trackplan in 4.5 x 7. here are a few 4x6 layouts (mostly ovals) that might be of more interest, expanding them to a 4x7 basically means adding a straight to each long side this one has a small yard...

    Display/storage

Here's what I use. It holds 45 cars nicely. It won't hold passenger equipment or a Mallet, but handles most engines and freight ok. a few of these should work for your stuff.

    My new plan.

Is the 4.5x7 ft area will be for an L-shaped layout or for a traditional 4x8 style layout? do you want a loop for continuous running? or a bend-the-corner shelf switcher?
