Well if your doing HO scale you'll probably be relegated to a yard and doing switching operations and such.If you switch to N scale you'd be able to do a lot more with that space of course. Chris

I had a BLI Santa Fe 2-10-2,beautiful engine,but I had problems keeping it on the track.I took the easy way out and changed eras,now I do modern diesel so I wouldn't have to deal with the delicate stuff you do with steam:rolleyes:.I actually prefer modern diesels,but I still find myself wanting...

Those Blue Line engines look to be good deals.I saw a Paragon series one go for $150 on E-Bay last night and I paid that for mine,also on E-Bay. Chris

I've used a few BLI engines on DC and have had no problems so it sounds like you received a lemon to me.I used them with a Quantum Engineer,I have to say it's very cool! Chris

Me too,I love the arrowhead scheme!I also like the Gopher scheme and the owner of my LHS who happens to be an DM&IR nut says he can't get the decals anymore so I bought his last set. Chris

How about details,do you do those also?I don't know what it all will need added,but I know it will need all weather windows.It might also need wipers and or all the cables and hoses,I'm not sure what the Genesis SD45-2 will have in that way.When I pick up one of the SD45-2's I'll get a hold of...

I went to my LHS today and picked up his last set of DM&IR SD40-3 #416/418 Gopher Scheme decals and was wondering if there's a good place to go for custom paint/decal and detail work.I'm going to pick up a undecorated Athearn Genesis SD45-2 to use for it and I want it to look like this...

Really,there's very little reason to even buy brass anymore to be honest.Unless of course something you want isn't produced in plastic,like a DM&IR Yellowstone for example:mrgreen:. I have engines built by T55,Kato,Atlas and BLI and they're all great looking engines:thumb:. Chris

Yep,and it's strange because even Athearn RTR engines have metal grab irons and brass horns.Not trying to bash Kato,but for what you pay for them they should have more metal details. I have an Kato SD70MAC BN and when I looked at all the details and how delicate they are,I just said forget so...
