The light at the end of the tunnel

The photo of the dog indicates that it's hollow....So, if we were to delve inside...would we be the "Hollow Men"..?? And would that allow us to determine the nature of the elusive light..?

Hi Dan....Thanks for your comments.sign1 Here's a link to the first section of the layout that I consider mostly "finished". It still needs detailing, but the "rough" work is done. I'll have to dig through the "archives" here to find some other "random" pics I've posted now & then...

Herc...They sure are....They're just the first step in putting together my "dream" train. Though a steam fan to the core...this one train was one of the reasons I chose New Mexico as the setting for my layout....:mrgreen::mrgreen:

    Shinohara or pico turnouts

Pecos also have this tab.....If it gets gummed up after ballasting, use a very fine emery sandpaper (the black one), fold it in two, and clean both the the point, stock rail, and the little tab by inserting it between the point and stock rail, close the points so the paper is jammed between the...

    Dan's Layout

Hey....A thought just crossed my mind....(that happens every 2-3 years....) Modeling an urban scene is much more "believable" than, like me, trying to squeeze the New Mexico desert into a few square feet... Thats one great layout..!! :thumb: P.D. I don't know how old you are, but...

Thanks for the heads-up... I did run the A unit by itself for about 1/2 an hour, and then tried the same with the B unit, but it didn't run alone. It's got to be run with the A. This is what makes me think that both will run off the same decoder... Thanks again....

Nickel silver, I presume..? NS track oxidizes, just like the old brass used to. The difference between the 2 is that the oxide of NS track is conductive, so the NO-OX isn't just preventing oxidation, it's probably conductive itself... Metal wheels do pick up the grime left behind by plastic...

    No more track cleaning....ALMOST

Hi...You don't mention what kind of track you're using... You're right in saying that the major source of track gunk comes from dirty/deteriorating car wheels. The best way to avoid this is to use metal wheels, AND run the trains often...

    ebay selling....

I have no problem with eBay, either buying or selling. My bone of contention is with the USPS....They effectively cut my Track Guard business down to zero. The last rate increase brought US delivery charges to almost 50% of the item's cost...Not a good deal. I could send to Australia for what it...
