    Lashups

JJ, I don't rmember having any trouble installing the couplers on my Mike. One the first run, I had to install MT's on the tender and loco. The second runalready has Kato's knuckle coupler on the tender. For the loco, as I remember, I had to remove a cover and the coupler as one piece...

    Lashups

MT does produce a coulper conversion for the Kato Mike and it's not too difficult to install on the loco, I'll have to look up the number. I have just joined the family.

Henry, Welcome to the Gauge! About 1/4 of my present latout is Kato Unitrack and I love it. Like you, I will be building a door mounted layout within the next two years to travel with me in our motor home and, I will use Unitrack 100% on it. Dick

    Electric sub-station

Here's the Concor substation as I built it. It was quite a challenge to bend all the wire installed, so I didn't do all of them, just enough to make it convincing enough for me. Dick

    Electric sub-station

The Cambria City substation kit is a nice one. The "chain link fence is, indeed, window screening but it's not cut "diagonally" but rather "with the grain". From a distance it doesn't look bad. Green Max also makes a decent substation kit, though not as "involved" as Concor's. Dick
