    Scratchbuilt Pile driver

No the pile driver has nothing to do with the sawmill, except that it's on my logging spur. It is used for driving , of all things, piles for trestles and other structures.

    Scratchbuilt Pile driver

I jst finished my scratchbuilt pile driver that was sitting in a box unfinished for about 3 years: It's entirely scratchbuilt with no comercial castings except a handful of grandt Line NBW castings. The dokey engine is a mix of styrene shapes and clock gears. The boiler is a cut down...

    Airbrush spray booth

Before I built the booth I would have to paint outside (wouldn't even think of painting inside) and that would mean waiting till spring.

    Airbrush spray booth

No problem, the first pictures of my new (to me) digital camera: The back shows the exhaust system, consisting of a flat fan (I don't know where I got it) located behind a furnace filter. The hose is bought a the local Rona store for about 2.50. The board in the window is cut to fit in the...

    Start of My Layout

I was out on a walk today and was thinking the same thing as I passed a tree full of dead leaves, why not use ground up real leaves

    Airbrush spray booth

I went over to my In-laws today and my Father-in-law and I built an airbrush booth for my workshop. I found an old fan witha sealed motor for the exhaust which will be routed through the window of my workshop using a dryer vent hose and a special adapter board that will fit in the window tracks...

    Canadian National paint numbers

I've painted a couple diesels in Model master Medium green but I think they lack the olive drab tone: But on the other hand the color can be different from one picture to another: I've almost given up on what is the correct color from the paint manufacturers. (You should see the...

    Canadian National paint numbers

Thanks I did and the # 11 went on diesel engines and passenger cars. The #12 went on Boxcar doors used in paper service. So I'll be sticking with the scalecoat paint.

    My SD9 rebuild

The engine rebuild is looking really good. The short hood looks like a challenging project. I'm working on an SD-7/9 project myself buit starting with a couple basket case Proto 2000 units. I'm not shortening the hood but adding a couple detail parts and repainting it in a fantasy Canadian...

    Lets see what you got

That's a really nice tripod, mine is considerably cheaper looking. As an after Christmas prsent to myself I bought a used digital camera off ebay and a roundhouse Caboose with working marker lights. The camera should be here by the end of the week so I can finally take pictures of the layout...

    Canadian National paint numbers

I'm looking to pick up some new paint for my CN loco (diesel) Could anyone tell me the difference between CN Green #11 and CN Green#12 I've bought # 11 before but found it a little dark. Floquil makes CN#12 and I'm wondering if its lighter of even used on the early CN diesels.

    Cars/Trucks/Vehicles size suggestions

Most of my vehicles have been collected over the past 10-15 years. I have several of the Malibu cars sold at wal mart as well as Roco (converted military trucks) some of the older Walthers resin cars, Alloy forms, praline, and others. The ones that weren't picked up at Wal-mart were bought from...

    Lets see what you got

I didn't really get anything train related this Christmas, however I did get a nice comfy Dr scoll's back massager for my office chair that I'm using as I speak. My In-laws gave me some money that I'll be using towards the layout, probably a couple decals sets and detail parts. I did get a...
