Crazy video of high speed train surfer

As long as you asked, I would spend my time trying to do something good for other folks, rather than throwing it away on silly, "all-about-me and how cool I can be" crap like this. What you do for others is your true legacy. "Never to be forgotten"? Yeah, right. I don't have a habit of...

    Attempt to solder rails together...

When you ever get the joint hot enough for the solder to flow, it will all become clear to you. The solder will flow into the joiner by capillary action if and only if the whole joint is hot enough to keep the solder liquid. Not touching the solder to the tip is a very nice concept, but a little...

    What's Up with Hobby Lobby?

They also have some dried decorative plants which can be used for trees, etc. And some small bags of fine sand in different shades which make good scenic material. And the coupon is great!!

    Parabolic curves

What I like best about using the easements is that the engines and rolling stock ease out of the curve onto the straight track. Without the easement, they're on the curve, then Wham! they're straightened out. It operates much more realistically with the transitions.:thumb:

    Attempt to solder rails together...

Keeping the tip coated with solder (tinned) makes it transfer more heat to the work faster. I guess it also helps keep the tip from oxidizing. Use a sponge or damp rag to keep the tip clean. I don't know if you have a hot enough iron. The hotter the better, I think. A hot iron will heat the...

    OK, now what has happened----

Hey John, why don't you check the resistance between the wheels from side to side with the loco off the tracks? Sounds like there is a short circuit across the rails, or a very low resistance. Unplug the tender connection and check again. If the resistance is appreciably higher then you have...

    How to solder?

prodigy, You can use the wire nuts for just about any connection; they make a soilid connection and are quite secure. A somewhat better-appearing method is to slide a piece of shrink tubing over one wire, then twist the ends together (tighter than shown below), solder together, then slide the...

    Brass Wire for Handrails?

Hay guys, I have no experience with N-scale grab irons, but five-thousandths wire seems awfully small to handle, form, and install, and to withstand handling later on. Just one of those opinions, ya know! Has anyone here actually done this? It might be one of those areas where your...

    Circuitrom FL-2 alternating flasher

I'll bet that signal is a sweet looking unit! How much did the parts cost you? The second crossbuck wires in just like the first one (to the same terminals). Each pair of lamps is parallelled (L and L, R and R). This is what it shows on your sheet.

    Circuitrom FL-2 alternating flasher

Connect one wire from each bulb to the wire going to the OUT terminal. You probably don't need a resistor if the voltage output of the flasher is 16V or less. Connect the other two leads to L and R, as the dwg shows. You may want a higher voltage supply than 12VDC. If your power pack has a...

    Circuitrom FL-2 alternating flasher

handyman, try this hookup. I can't make out the polarity of the LED's so , if they're backwards, reverse 'em. The 3-rail diagram shown operates by the wheels of a car in the zone switching DC- to the C terminal, making a detection circuit. The toggle switch will do the same thing.:thumb...

Specific help for laying track bed

prodigy, How are your soldering skills? There are a number of posts here about installing flextrack curves ( which you may have read); it takes a certain amount of "fiddling ability" to get it down without kinks or gaps. Please don't take this wrong. Just don't want you to get too...
