    BlueLine Locomotives

If you are using DCC I don't think that you need to worry about an analog module. The module is for DC use only, as I interpret the information I read. Do a search on Blueline, and see what you can find. That is where I saw the info on the analog module. The price you stated is a good one...

    BlueLine Locomotives

Have no experience with these. I did note, that this is a $170.00 unit. Can use on just DC, but you will need a analog control module to operate the whistle, bell & other sounds. Then you will need a decoder if you are using DCC.

LifeLike Proto N GP38-2 erratic operation

With the split frame ( It does have a split frame-right?) The contacts from the wheels makes contact with two side contacts, one on each side of the loco, this contact is pressed into the frame. That is what makes the two split halfs have power. One + one -. the motor is mounted in a plastic...

LifeLike Proto N GP38-2 erratic operation

I am going to take a wild guess here. Could it be when you increse power, the motor torque is twisting the motor in the motor bracket and causing the copper strips from the brush holder to loose contact,To the frame, when you squeeze the halfs together it makes contact. That is what I would look...

    Digitrax DN 163AO problem

Hi Deano. Well there are no wires on this install, plug and play. There are the two motor contacts that make contact with the decoder. I don't like them so I replace with a small jumper wire and solder to the decoder. The split frame tabs that hold the board onto the frame were loose and I bent...

T-Mac, I think you can get a NCE Power Cab for about $140.00. Try Litchfield Station and do a search. Bruce will help you out. Well if you can operate each system. There might be something on one system or the other that you may not like. I just got a NCE Power Cab, and like it just fine. Pretty simple to hook up and operate. The one thing that NCE Power Cab will not do, and that is run a DC loco. I think each system...

It should look like a v-grove pulley, if you have it together right. By the looks of the rest of the parts that you have...

    how big is a garage?

WOW! That is large for todays homes. Here in Arizona, I think that the builders are thinking that everyone owns a golf cart! Most homes have a very small garage. Most you can not park a full size 1/2 picup in. And they way they cram houses on the lots. Front of the homes are all garage door...
