Harbour progress on the Nova Scotia Northern

yeah, the grey stripe is a side road, although that part does need quite a lot of work. There has been some progress with a retaining wall I haven't photographed yet. I'm waiting for more pocket money as I've run out of plaster cloth :) Graham

Some pics of my N scale steam

I run them, mainly just at shows with my N scale bendtrack buddies, but I run sometimes on special trains on my home layout. I'm trying the cop-out of building a RR museum so I can at least display them. I'm thinking my next bendtrack module may be a museum module. Graham

Harbour progress on the Nova Scotia Northern

last one so far here is the current state I need to detail this more, maybe add a boat and really clean up the water etc. I also need some of the small details and blend things together. The building is just temporary but its something for now. I'm also not sure if the trees work, I'm not...

Harbour progress on the Nova Scotia Northern

Hi everyone, I thought I would share some of the progress on my Nova Scotia Northern. I've decided to try and "finish" one end of the layout before completing basic scenery so I can have a bit of a break. There will be a Paper Mill and a small dock on this branch, I have to figure out how...

Some pics of my N scale steam

Yeah British steam is rather elegant, not much in the way of exposed piping although with four cylinders with two between the frames I guess maintenance was a headache! Hi frenchtoast, the A4 is the older Minitrix offering, it runs very well and IMHO looks a little better than the Grafar one...

Some pics of my N scale steam

Was playing around with a cheap little 2.1MP digicam and thought I'd post these pics of my N scale steam loco's. The camera was very cheap and I lit this very simply and used the flash too. The lens is tiny and has no macro so I had to keep the camera about 20" back. I'd love to see other...

    Building Bachmann's Ambassador Hotel

Not a dissenter at all Andrew!, This is way too hot, as soon as it gets above 22 I'm start feeling worse.. but on the plus side, my lovely dark basement is a good 8 degrees cooler that the rest of the house and guess where the railway is! Grahan

    Building Bachmann's Ambassador Hotel

I think that would be a good idea Val, I can't wait to see your layout evolve, judging by what we've seen so far its going to be truly inspirational. :) Graham

Its Monday 6-27-05, Weekend modeling accomplishments!

Well I didn't get anything rail related done (and the Nova Scotia Northern is coming on nicely finally). Spent the weekend helping my wife rig one of her 3D models (I think I'll stick to real models!) Graham

    Life Like Alco C424/425

Hi Dan, I have a pair of CN C424's and love them. They run very well, nice slow speed and are well detailed. Some people complained about the distance between the trucks and the body but the real thing has more of a gap than EMD offerings. Conversion to M/T couplers was easy and used...

    Canada's War in Colour

Sorry Andrew, The project was undertaken to make a CD-ROM, the museum is a small heritage place and the website doesn't have any real content. The webpage is www.dartmouthheritagemuseum.ns.ca They might be able to help you or get the CD for you.. we don't have any of the material...

A model railway show in Holland

I didn't see any Marx trains, it was quite a small show and had planes and model boats too. Graham

All it needs is a train!

I think there has been an T1 done, but it was brass by Key imports and I'm afraid to think of what it costs. But you could start PRR and get something a little less flambouyant to start! take a look at this layout (sadly sold now) that was build by Jim Cullen, its not too big and based on...

All it needs is a train!

Hi Josie, Welcome to N scale!!!! (its the only true scale, but hey I'm totally biased!). As everyone has said there's a whole bunch of information on the net. Try going back through the posts on the N&Z scale section of the gauge, there's a bunch of relevant and interesting stuff plus lots...

    Name that Train UK

Yeah the four wheeler is a pacer unit. I used to ride them on the valley lines in South Wales and they make a hell of a noise going round tight curves, they're very rough riding as I remember. The one with the really curved front is a class 390 pendolino I thing (for Virgin Trains) The...
