    Lmx

Bob, What time frame are you modeling? The reason I ask is that until recently all of the LMX units (100, GE, B39-8E's) had been leased to the BN. Their lease just expired in the last couple of years so if you are running present day you will have no problem having them on the UP/CNW. Thats...

    Gp40x's still in service?

Russ, BNSF's are still running, as for UP I think that they have gotten rid of them. I think that some of UP's have made it to the used loco market. I don't know if NS are still running theirs?

    Locomotive Problem

Check the axle gears, they could be cracked (a reccuring problem with P2K). This will cause a binding in the drive train. If they are cracked you can replace them with Athearn axle gears. Dan

    kitbash idea

A B32-8 in N scale:eek: Not the easiest kit-bash around I've been thinking of doing one in HO:p For more info you might want to get a hold of a couple magazines. The Sept/Oct 1990 issue of Diesel Era has a in-depth article on the B32-8, lots of detail photos. The Sept. 1990 issue of...

    Paint Scheme opinion

Don, Veerry Interresting! Have you thought about painting the unit in a base color or two and appling a Arizona state flag to the side of the long hood? i.e. UP's current flag scheme When it comes to designing a paint scheme for a freelance railroad there are no boundries. I had a...

Gondola Loads: What types and how to make?

Tom, What a "loaded" question. :D My first suggestion would be to go to www.index.mrmag.com and do a search under "gondola" "load". This will so how many magazine articles that there have been and in what magazine they are in. Then all you have to do is find that issue. Around here all the...

    Procrastinator...yes

I've been thinking along the same lines for my next layout. Only instead of kitchen cabinets I'm thinking of using 48" tall storage lockers or even bookcases that you can get from from office supply stores. These would put the layout at just the right height, about 52 to 54 inches off the floor...

Has anyone ever made one of these?

I did a quick search on www.index.mrmag.com under "CN" "COVERED HOPPER", There have been a few articles on this car. The August '86 issue of Mainline Modeler has a drawing and the February '87 issue of Railroad Model Craftsman has a kitbashing article. So when are we going to see an "N Scale"...
