How many of you have done this???

My first wife (that's the one I'm currently married to) likes looking at the layouts when they are finished - but unfortunately shows no interest in my indulgence or is willing to assist in my passion.

    Replacing trucks, which one ?

Go to your local Hobby Shop and pick up the appropriate 'bulk pack' (10 sets of trucks with couplers) they have the '"o" rings and M/T pins- and you'll aways appreciate having extras around. Keep an eye for the small, medium and long shank length for each specific application.

    Replacing trucks, which one ?

Just re-use the old pins - they will work fine. You may have to use the washers in 'some' applications depending on the car for car-end clearance.

    Truro Junction Layout in Progress!

What are the linear dimensions of the layout? I wondered where all the CN Units that I didn't already own went.

    MRC Synchro Sound Box Question

Thanks for reminding me about this...it's been a while since I have turned on the power - and had forgotten I started this on TB. I updated the topic also to see if I could get a simpler fix.

Seeking N Scale Undecorated Kato f40ph's

I took engineshop's advice - ( I can't beleive I didn't think of that....duh). Apparently the kato shells are a pain to strip. So on the end I will have 2 Amtrak shells to sell down the road.

Anyone know where I can obtain one or two of these units - I've exhausted my usual haunts and am equally exhausted. Feel Free to PM me - Thanks in advance.

? on Starting an N Scale Group

Recently speaking to two LHS owners - I have established that there are numerous other 'N' Scalers in my town/county. Rather then immediately trying to form a 'club' per se - I wanted to form a network - that could share their interest, ideas and talents to help each other out and/or bounce...

I've got it - I'll scan it when I get home from work tonight if you still need it. Which plan is it ?

    Nice eBay win

The seller sounds like a sore loser who didn't get what HE wanted for them in auction. Don't let it discourage you from searching for that special item again. I have bought alot on the 'bay due to manufacturer's 'limited runs' from years back and have been fortunate to deal with honest people.

    Brass Locomotive Expert Needed

I picked up a Hallmark N scale GP9 that requires an expert to make it run again....anyone here know of someone familiar with this kind of thing - who could diagnose and possibly bring it back to life ? Someone in Canada would gain extra points but it's not a necessity.

    Weekend 10 - 21 Where???

I look out my back deck when I hear the sound of the train sounding the horn at the Paris Junction crossing (to my west), or the wheels hitting the Paris Steel Bridge (to the east). I know the train will be in my yard in about 30 seconds either way.

    MRC Synchro Sound Box Question

I picked up one of these units in my LHS today on a lark. He had one running with a steam diorama and it caught my 'ear. I bought the diesel unit - hooked it up as per instructions to my Control Master 20 and find it somewhat interesting enough. I am running DC analog. (My 8 year old winces...

    Docu-Drama-The National Dream (Canadian)

So while flipping through the satellite channels this past weekend - I noticed they were showing an episode of Pierre Berton's CBC epic 'The National Dream' (for those not familiar..it was a docu-drama about how the railroad was built west in the 1800's). I hadn't seen this since my grade 5...

Cheap loco with rapido coupler ?

Biased turkey - #2 is the easiest. Buy a good rail car with rapido couplers (remove 1 truck assembly) - then get a package of preassembled trucks with M/T's and create a conversion car. Cheaper in the long run. We have a couple of these on our club layout for those who remain 'uconverted'...
