    MRC Decoder in a Stewart F-7 A-B

I have a Stewart F-7 A-B set in Clichfield livery and I have recently installed a MDC AD370 Sound decoder in it. I had to put the speaker in the B unit due to space limitations and the fact that the huge metal frame of the Stewart Locos (great for pulling power mind you) takes up all availible...

For those interested in sound on the cheap....

MRC makes a 60 dollar sound decoder in both steam and diesel sounds. I have not used the steam decoder as of yet but I have installed three of the diesel decoders and the sounds are not all that bad. However I do dislike the engine sound itself, it is just a bit too tinny for my tastes but...

    Another Dry Weathering Technique

Don't laugh, I have actually tried something similar. Believe it or not it actually does work pretty well. I used a bucket with some dirt in it though instead of the yard

    Another Dry Weathering Technique

I used a brownish grey tile grout followed by Aquarium charcoal on these three cars to get these effects. Total time to weather all three. maybe 30 minutes. BTW if anyone could help me identify the type of hoppers these are I would appreciate it as I would like to get about 8 more of...

    Another Dry Weathering Technique

I like to call this technique the Shake and Bake method. What you do is take a powder such as tile grout or aquarium filter carbon or some other suitable color and put it into a gallon size freezer bag. Add you item to be weathered such as a piece of rolling stock or a loco shell...
