    New Diorama for the CVR.

Some people just have poor luck. I left the big city behind 5 years ago and have not regretted it for a single day.

    New Diorama for the CVR.

Well, I am at it again... This time it is for a "Building Dioramas" clinic at the train show on Sunday. I needed to build a small diorama for the clinic, so I looked around my layout for a likely spot. I had read an article in a back issue of The NGSL Gazette, entitled "A Farm For A...

On our old club layout, a couple of the portals were made using the blue extruded foam. It was carved and painted with Acrylic craft paints and looked quite realistic.

    Scenery

I too am not a rich man, so I turned on the charm at a couple of local stores. The woman who owns the local coffee shop that I frequent throws her used coffee grounds into a plastic pail, so I asked if I could bring in a pail and remove some of the used grounds. She was glad to be rid of...

    Back to the Future Train

The train from Back To The Future III was actually the "Cannonball" that used to run through Hooterville. That's right... the same locomotive they used in the scenes of Petticoat Junction and Green Acres TV shows. For more information...

I would have to agree with Andrew, I mispoke my layout, it is in fact secional as I follow no standard and the sections cannot be rearranged.

The human eye can be tricked, but a camera sees exactly what is there.

    module size?

HO-Trak and N-Track modules have specific dimensions in order to facilitate them being combined. I build my home layout in four modules, simply because I knew I would be moving one day. It is easier to take the layout apart and move it as four pieces (2x5, 3x4, 2x6.5 and 2x7.5').

any tips for using glue to secure track to cork

    Well, I just don't like the economics of Scenic Cement... Scenic Cement = $5.50US - $6.00US for 16oz. (I have seen it in the LHS for $8.00CDN). LePage's Glue = $15-16CDN for 3.8L 3.8L = 128.5oz which is 8 times 16 therefore a similar amount of Scenic cement would cost me $44US - $48US...

any tips for using glue to secure track to cork

Well, Doc and Penn central. here is my whole process for laying track. Remember that I am in N scale. I am using a 2" foam subroadbed, cork and flextrack. 1. I mark the path of the track right on the foam. 2. Run a bead of LePage's White Glue (full strength) beside the track mark. 3...

    A Question for Serious Modlers

For deisels, Atlas, Kato and Intermountain. For Steam the Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0 is the best runner I have seen (steam or deisel). Also Model Power or Atlas are very good. If you can find Minitrix Steam they are excellent.
