Thanks Val and Andrew. It has been a long time coming together, but I am getting there. Am I going to see either of you on the weekend at the Barrie train show?

Don't think I have seen that one David. If you run across it again, please let me know what the book is. I am trying to collect all books on the areas history.

    Finally The CVR goes public

Which one is that David? The original Credit Valley Railway Station, the original TG&B Station or the original Witch's Hat Station? I have several pictures of the Original Witch's Hat Station. Some from books, some I had taken in the 60s/70s. On page 18 of A.M. McKitrick's "Steam Trains...

    Finally The CVR goes public

Thanks Berraf and Steven. Yes, the history is very interesting. Here is a railway that started in the 1800s and had 184 miles of track. In 1980, after 100 years, all but 3 miles were still in use. Even now, over 125 years later, only 30 miles of track have been left unused, 154 miles of track...

    New Diorama

Worked on the other side of the town tonight. Just starting the portal near where Tsawwati Station will be. And look there is Tommy and Duke about to explore the cave (Duke is the one on the left).

    New Diorama

Thanks Johnny. Well, I must be a picky son of a gun or something... I have been looking at that portal for a couple of days and not liking it. SO! Tonight I ripped it out and started again. What do you guys think of this one? Be honest now. Here is a closer look.

    Wasted detail

now that is amazing. I agree with Ron, do not attach the roof, then while you are giving your layout tour, you relate a story to do with the mess hall or maybe one of the LPBs inside. At the appropriate time in the story, you remove the roof to show the guys talking. Gotta show off artwork...

    New Diorama

Did a little work last night. Here is the first layer on the hill, "Glue Shell" using used dryer sheets. I ordered some of David Bateman's Blocks at www.modelrailstructures.com Here is my first attempt at a shortlines rough hewn tunnel portal, not sure if I like my artwork or...

    New Diorama

Thanks Berraf and Jim, you might be right, but that is OK. It fits right in with the Rotary Club motto "Service Above Self" and also helps me with the NMRA, I am looking at the Master Modeller program.

    New Diorama

I am attempting to complete this diorama using some of Robin Matthysen's cerealboard artwork as well as about 4-5 of RSlaserKits structures. In the center photo, the three buildings on the left of the street are all RSlaser Kits. These kits are just right for my era, heck they would be right for...

    New Diorama

Well, just before Christmas, one of my Rotary friends suggested I do a talk on Model Railroading as a hobby, (I have it scheduled for later in the spring). Also, a couple of the fellows at my model RR club said that an introductory clinic might be good for some of the other service clubs as...

    track

I prefer the code 80, it is hard enough to keep a small 4-4-0 steam locomotive on the tracks as it is.

Started Scenery on the BAD Western

Doc, just checked out your homepage, you are progressing nicely. I just picked up a couple of N Scale buildings from RSlaserKits, that are perfect for us old time modellers. Also the quality is top notch. Check out their new line of 1880s buildings, I have the store and shop, but the Hotel...

    The Gorge is growing

Excellent job Collyn. Looks really good. :thumb: Also an interesting mix, modern containers in the forground, 1880s overland coaches and buildings up the hill. Personally I like the pioneer stuff. :D
