well, there's a couple of ways you could deal with this. 1: cut the holes in the hexagonal widgets a bit smaller(just inside the black line), which is probably what I'll do. 2: cut thin strip from a second printing of page one to fill the gap. (I may do this as well). As said above...

As pretty as your EEV is, I wouldn't add it to the model, as it's just not on the model in the first place. Adding it may make it complete, but it also makes it inaccurate. The millenium falcon has exactly the same problem, there are supposed to be escape pods, but they're just not on the model.

Okay, just tried it on 8mm dowel, printed on 200gsm stock. there is still a small gap, and the final diameter is somewhere between 8 and 8.5mm. it may not seem like much, but when wrapped around 9mm dowel, there is a 3mm gap. ..now I'm gonna have to get me some 8.5mm diameter brass to...

9mm would prolly be the OUTside diameter, according to my experiments. so you are going to need something closer to eight if you want the parts to fit. I strongly suggest you cut out a practice piece before purchasing your dowel.

Just a quick note: The OUTSIDE diameter of the spine is about 8.5mm according to my fudging about with the parts on sheet 1. (at least when I print it out) that means you'll probably want an internal rod of a bit over 8mm in diameter. I suggest doing your own calculations based on the thickness...

Hmm. the scaling on this would seem to make the dropship considerably larger than the 85ish feet that its supposed to be, as well. (122'? bigger than a C130 by more than 20') But I susspect it maybe another one of those scale anomolies caused by hollywood directors and propmakers not attempting...

thanks all. Yes, it would appear that the hull below the waterline should be black, but I'm guessing that another one of those things that "experts" like to argue about. I believe that red underneath U-boats is just as debated.
