Just for fun, how strong is your engine?

Let's see, my MDC Roundhouse 3 truck shay, before retrofit, pulled 40 cars at 55% power on a flat grade. I ran out of cars to test it's full capacity, but i figured it would pull 100 on flat before slipping, not bad at all. haven't regeared it to run better yet, but i'm suspecting, by what i...

Looks good, you could always mist spray the ballast with a brown color, make it look a little older, looks like fresh laid right now :) Put a few small pockets of short grass here and there in the ballast, maybe a flower or two along the sides. Just a few suggestions.

Video of Amtrak Train Hitting Truck

Brakie, the thing is, the light turned green, the truck proceeded across the rails, the light turned red and the driver stopped for a red light, with his rear end partially on the rials, the gate arm came down on the truck as he was about half way across the rials. seems to me the intersections...

    Stargate fans

forgive me here, but the gate is not big enough to have a modern train go through it (it's about 1 person in radious, aproxx 6 feet). you would have to scale the train down to support such an opperation, then yuo have to make sure all the track on both side is exactly perfectly lined up. and...

    Looking for DCC system..

Connor, the new MRC prodigy advanced is getting good reviews, i'd be tempted to get it over the Digitrax, as you'll get both a Knob and button control on the same throttle. Course I already own a NCE, so I won't be getting another system for awhile.

    My new Shay

    A&P Warehouse - completed

Frank, didn't the A&P's also operate Malt shops in their stores in the 50's? I remember my parents talking about how they would head out to the A&P for a shake. Course we don't have any A&P's left here, they all were gone by the mid-late '70's. Oh And BTW, the building really looks good, time...

    Stations

Ok, was doing some looking for unique looking stations to build and found some interesting pictures of some. I really love the look od the LA Union Station, but I think it might be a bit to dull over all (but a good challenge). But taking into account the design was what caught my attention...

    Which DCC Cab?

Actually, it's FREE, the $5 is to cover S&H, and $15 for an all new manual, otherwise you just get inserts for the old one.

Nice, but umm....isn't that a 36' boxcar? I love the idea that somehow a baby ruth 36' boxcar somehow made it long enough to be pulled by a modern diesel.

    My Railroad Herald

I have to agree with Val here, I like the second version though. But, i'd say replace the hibiscus flower on the second one with thepalm tree again, make the trunk the same yellow (preferably a duller yellow) as the center and put the green leaves back in. the palmtree can be trimmed in a light...
