    Northwest Modeling Mecca??

I'll try to get a current picture of the layout sometime today, so everyone can see the progress that has been made. Although our focus of activity has returned to our principal layout, there is still detail work that will be added from time to time to the Dairy Queen layout. If you are ever...

    Northwest Modeling Mecca??

The bench was left in place underneath the layout. We tried to install everything so there would be minimal impact on the dining area should the layout ever have to be removed. Work progresses on the installation.

    Northwest Modeling Mecca??

I thought it would be appropriate to give this thread a little closure. This is one of the last photos that I took before the layout was moved and installed in the John Day Dairy Queen.

Thanks, JD, for the information on the caboose and the positive comments on the layout. Your input corresponds to the way I remember the caboose when I last saw it in Hines. Look us up when you come through town. There is still a lot to do on the layout, but with it installed in the DQ...

Yes, it is N-scale. The woodchip loader is a kit that is, I believe, made by Republic Locomotive Works. If I remember right, the kit is made for truck loading; but this one was modified to be used for railcars. (I was fortunate enough to get this one off of eBay, so I didn't have to build it...

Here's another picture of the same module that was taken about the same time as the one in the thread. I was going to just attach this photo when I edited my first post, but I had to post again to get the attachment feature.

The backdrop painting on the Hines/Burns end of the layout was roughed in tonight, and set up for the picture. Scenery work was also continued on the Hines/Burns end. We had originally planned on having a divider to separate Hines and Burns, but time and talent constraints have caused us to...

A couple of new pictures taken after the work session tonight. The placement for the buildings in Seneca has pretty much been decided. A new log car reloading spur has been added since the last posting.
