    Johnny Lightning Monopoly Tokens

Clark, Actually, you cannot buy the tokens separately. The ones that I acquired came packaged with a larger car. I only wanted the tokens, so my kids got the larger cars which are about Hot Wheels' size.

    Johnny Lightning Monopoly Tokens

Here are some pictures that I've taken of some of the Monopoly tokens that I have painted for my layout. I think that they have added some nice variety which we can always use.

    Micro-Machines That Work for Me!

I almost forgot.... This garbage truck is also a Micro-Machines vehicle. In the second picture it can be seen how it compares to the vehicles in the background. They are from left to right: Atlas Tarus; Johnny Lightning Dodge Charger??? (Monopoly piece with a partially completed paint job)...

    Micro-Machines That Work for Me!

I have been posting pictures in various threads about the use of Micro-Machine vehicles that I have found to be satisfactory for use with N-scale. I'll post some of them here in one place for you to evaluate. Most of the Micro-Machine products are far from perfect, but a few of them I feel are...

    Rest Area Module?

Thanks for the nice comments. At the risk of taking this topic for a "bird walk" (off topic comments to follow), I am always looking for cheap items in store toy departments that will pass for something in N-scale. I found these construction vehicles, also by Micro-Machines; and after touching...

    Rest Area Module?

These are some pictures of a module I have been building that was first of all going to be a Boy Scout Camp; then it was looking more like a state park; and, now, it is looking more and more like a roadside rest area. The first and second pictures show the maintanence crew picking up the...

A few more detail items have been added. Maybe I should make it a game and ask you what has been changed from the last picture.

    Building an N-Trak module

The group that I am affiliated with has decided to do modified N-Trak and 2-track group of modules. Some of the modules will have three tracks and be compatible with N-trak and some will be two-tracked. We have built the modules so we can isolate the tracks from each other or we can connect...

    Weathering cement hoppers.

I paint with acrylics using a dry brush of various rust, grime, and dust colors starting from the top and sweeping downward to get a streaked appearance. I usually follow up all this painting with a wash of white (or concrete-like) paint. The pigment will settle in the same places that dirt...

Just Getting Started... again... sort of....

Steve, Your BN engine appears to me to be the SD40-2 locomotive produced by Bachmann. I suspect that your other diesel engines are also Bachmann locomotives that came in train sets originally. The quality of these engines does not compare well to the quality of the newer locomotive releases...

    Forums for various Geographic Areas

Steve, I see that you are from Oregon, also. Woody is probably right about the numbers, but I tend to agree that a regional forum would be a nice option to have. It seems to me that there are very few individuals from the northwest US that make their presence known. In case you are...

    Cement Plant Module

Thanks, guys, for the helpful comments. I will be looking for ways to include your suggestions. Jimmy B., I already have a track that goes behind the plant for the coal cars. (The coal cars are a little more visible in the attached photo.) I have been considering placing another spur on...

    Cement Plant Module

Ralph, Yes, I did scratch build the conveyor system. The conveyor belts were made from cutting wooden strips on my table saw and simply painting them gray. I will probably add some painted detail later, but for now they are plain gray in color. The conveyor supports were leftover sprues...
