    Dinoreplicas doodles

I'm currently sorting through thousands of miscellaneous old files in my dropbox folder to make some space (which is how I remembered my walking Allosaurus skeleton). Might as well show some more old (non dinosaur) stuff. This one's from 2014, rendered with the old Blender internal renderer...

Ah those were the days :), I never used Terragen (think I tried it once) but I remember it did pretty nice skies. Finally got the thing done after a few issues. Here's the video, best viewed at 1080p

It's good work. I'd love to build something like that if I ever have the time or resources. I was planning on getting the video up this afternon. My laptop has spent the morning crunching through the composits. Got half way through and realised the most important layer was made at half...

As I'd hoped, splitting the render into a few layers has given me more control over the look at the video edit stage.

Thanks for the support guys, wish I'd posted this project here 3 years ago instead of putting it on Sketchfab where it mostly managed a collective meh! :) After rendering animation frames all Saturday I got my PC to crunch out a draft version of the video on Sunday night (ended up with 10 shots...

Thanks, hopefully it's worth a couple of views for dinosaur fans. I was annoyed when I had to remove the real-time version so this is a good way for me to put the project to rest. If I ever have a catastrophic backup failure it'll still be viewable in some form. Quick blast of the walk-cycle...

Kit pages look great, always loved the look of this aircraft.

Well I looked over the old Allosaurus file, The rig has a few quirks and issues and I can't remember much of how I got the parts working the way they do. The animation looks a little bouncy in hindsight but I'm not going to change anything. Been having a go with Blender 2.92, quite...

Thanks, I'm don't consider myself a Blender expert but I'll pass on any tips I can and I'm fairly open about my personal art techniques. We're all learners after all. Cheers for that. I'd like to create another papercraft though it will be a while before I get round to it. Knowing me it'll...

Still thrilled by the response to the mural. I can say they're fun to do and I'd reccomend to anyone who fancies putting some paint on a wall. Maybe I'll get an opportunity to do another sometime. Here's some old screen-grabs of how the real-time Allo looked when originally hosted. Modelled in...

    Dinoreplicas doodles

Thought I'd resurrect my old animated walking Allosaurus skeleton I made in 2017. I originally had this hosted on a real-time 3D website service but I closed the account when I was tipped off that someone was stealing my work. Anyway I've got no immediate plans for an art project so the...

Crazy to think SpongeBob has been around that long! Great theme for a kids wall too, your use of special materials, really creative. Made a W.I.P. pic and an animated GIF sequence

In a way, that's the plan :). If I can get sufficiently motivated I'd like to 3D-model at least one of the species from the pic. This has been pretty much finished since Tuesday but as usual I've been slow getting photos sorted. We took a couple of close-ups which I'll put up when I receive them.

I'll happily accept that description :) Had some queries as to how I got the image on the wall with correct proportions so here's the diagram I used to manually transfer the lines (made 1/10th scale on the computer). Grid divisions represent 250mm.

This is the stuff I've been using to put paint on the wall. The mural is just about complete so I've decided it's not worth taking another intermediate photo. I'm just going to crack on until it's finished.

I'm just going to leave it unpainted. Got a bit further with the mural.

Thanks for the kind words folks. Haven't spent enough time at the mural these past few days but still making progress.

That's great. It's something that more workplaces would benefit from. Working in some background colour.
