    Troubles

the problem in that thinking steamhead is that the car will blowup on the way to the hobbie shop, get towed back to the house, where you will find that the dog ate half the couch and now has to get it's stomach pumped at the vet , and while you were there the the hot water heater will spring a...

12 wheel to 8 wheel loco change?

I guess that these are 6 axle desales. You could always remove the center axle on each truck, or grind down the flanges of the center axles. If you think big... you could tear down and rebuild your layout with bigger curves?

    HO Scale Operational Hi-Rail

There are some old slot cars that have really small 12v motors in them that might be a better starting point for a motor. You can use a resistor to knock dawn the voltage to 1.2 v, but that resistor will get very HOT. If you have any kids you may be able to salvage a small 6 to 12 v motor from...

    DC or DCC??

I like plain old DC block control. It's simple to wire, trouble shoot (I'm an electrician), and it gives you the feel of a dispatcher. Plus it gives me a break from technology, I hate programing and computers. O, wait I'm on one. Got to go!!

    New trees

After working on the roof of a 20 story building I got a good idea of what you mean by a scaling problem. From that height I got a good sense of what an HO tree should look like. I'll give them a touch up tomorrow. Thanks Triplex.

    New trees

Trees Next I sprinkled on some ground foam. First some medium green all over the net. Then some darker green with the tree held upside down. And last some light green on the top surfaces only. This gives the effect of light and shadow(more depth). Lastly another good coat of dull coat.
