I actually already have the untextured Pep Valdore too, I've just never used it because the shape looks pretty innacurate.

Heh.....hehe....yeah...I'll do the Scimitar....sure.... ;) I've been collecting images of the two for awhile now, still can't find incredibly good references. Might try doing a Reman ship from Countdown.

We do really need a Valdore/Norexan model. Or maybe the Scimitar?

Alright, for those of you who weren't following my ST XI ships thread, I've just released three new Star Trek models, two from the new movie, and one of my own design (supposed to be the same era though).

Alright, the wait is up, the models are finally up on my site, get 'em while they're hot.

Don't worry about checking the site, I'll announce it here when I finally post them.

Soon I think, they just need some touch-ups. In fact, I think the shuttlebay is the last issue.

Eh, I seem to get along well enough without it. I think my designs would take a lot longer if I used 3D software.

Good news! I found my camera, so I can finally start uploading pictures of the models. Warning though, there are a LOT. Anyway, first is the Farragut, with the wrong saucer cut outs. Then the Hood, and finally, the USS Hartford, a ship I designed to fit into the era, its sort of a mix...

Again, spectacular looking model so far, the shape looks spot on and the texture is pretty excelent. Can't wait to see the main hull.

Wow, I don't usually run into people with older versions than mine. I'm guessing its the same though.

Well which version of Photoshop are you using? I know in PS 7 the gradient tool is the alternate for the paint bucket (right click to select).

Here, this might help give you some ideas to help with the texture. The changes were very simple, I just selected the illuminated sections with the magic wand tool, and then used the gradient tool. Then I used a lighter green to trace a few of the black lines you have, to make it look like...

Wow, now those are some good looking nacelles. If I might suggest though: try using some gradients for the glowing parts, I find they always make it look more like the parts are illuminated.

Oh wow, that is way too small... I think I might just try making it taller and steeper.

The primary hull is so integral, I don't think you really can build around it...

So it turns out the cut outs on the aft of the saucer for the Farragut are too wide. If none of you have started building yet, hold off until I get you the fixed files. It looks pretty good though.
