    Plywood vs. Humidity

You might also do some metallurgy research to determine what blends of metals the major manufacturers might be missing for electrical conductivity and oxidation, then you wouldn't be wasting your time with substandard rail. Ok, sarcasm a bit extreme there, but you are really creating perceived...

    On Track, with Deano

One more thing to tick into the pro column for BTTF is that pristine paint or really out of control weathering are both on the table for you too. I mean, a museum would go out of its way to have that HH660 stay looking fresh out of the shop once they worked so hard to restore it. Then again...

    1880's paycar

Very nice. I'm glad to see this going again. The softer cure definitely looks better to my eye too, that it fits the real thing better is a happy accident :D

It does look a little big, but I wonder if most of that isn't the camera angle making it look bigger than it would looking at with real eyes.

    Browsing The Gauge

I have no clue for others, but the clutter of transformers, etc and the odd time arrangement rather than forum makes it a bit like tearing up a copy of MR and reading the bits spread out on a table. Going through the forums one at a time gives me more context and I don't wind up seeing all the...

RUN Stickman RUN! I just love the warnings on the Centerbeam cars. All the BC Rail ones in town have NOKL reporting marks, which seems a long way to go to get cars to lease...

    Plywood vs. Humidity

I doubt foam and simple bracing would stay in such wide-spread use if they caused major warping and durability problems, but maybe it's more of a problem where you are. You can even get 3" thick foam from Dow if you're worried about sturdiness. If you don't trust finish grade pine or oak for a...

...when you think of gauge you think of a round thing with a needle ...you think a hopper is a bunny or a kangaroo ...you think gondolas belong in Venice or Vegas ...you know a truck is a truck, a bogie is a monster ...you think a speeder is that thing from Star Wars ...you think working the...

    Browsing The Gauge

I just start at the Gauge forum and work my way through the ones marked with new threads. I usually stay logged in and with a tab in Firefox always open to the main forum (forum.zealot.com/f6).

    Z-scale Question

I'm guessing it would be 56"/220 = .254" (and x 25.4mm/" = around 6.5mm). This is just from using the scale though, maybe the gauge is not quite that accurate.
