Want power? By yingle I'll give yeah power!

Looks like it has lots of places to squeeze in extra weight. I know its all the rage to hate lead weights these days, but frankly, you glue them inside the engine, close it up, wash your hands real well, and don't worry about it. Almost all paint had lead for years and years, and unless you...

    Running trains versus scenery

I choose running and operations as first priority, with scenery coming little by little as time goes on. First get the railroad up and running with basic structures, then work on the details. That way you can be having fun and improving the appearance at the same time.

C&O steam equipment is seriously under represented. Sure, Rivarossi has a nice Allegheny, Bachmann a nice Mountain, and Proto a nice Kanawha, but where are the L2 Hudsons, F17 Pacifics, A16 Atlantics, J3a Greenbriers, and other beautiful C&O passenger power? Not to mention, a...

    Building My First Helix-Pictures

Great lookin' helix. That thing is gonna be super-sturdy. :thumb: I've seen a few really precariously assembled ones before, scary stuff to operate on.

    Number 3 steams again

Always nice to see someone not giving up on a modeling project gone south. I've given up on my fair share in the past.

    Confessions of an Engine Illitererate

Nice thing about steam engines...as long as you can count you can sound like you know what you're talking about. "Yeah Frank, that 2-10-2 is quite a puller." "I'm looking to buy a new 2-8-0." "Bob, your 4-8-2 just derailed." See? Easy. :thumb:

Outside of brass, who makes best Steam engines?

Well, the C&O, Pere Marquette, and NKP were all guilty of doing that to the Berks.

Blueline will be the death of me

I advise contacting BLI's service dept. in Florida. If you mail it to them with a description of the problems they will fix them and ship it back free of charge. Their number is on the BLI/PCM website. You may have trouble getting them on the phone since I think only two guys work there or...

Outside of brass, who makes best Steam engines?

Do you know if the newest release of the Spectrum 4-8-2 thats DCC equipped is still problematic? It looks like such a nice engine.

Outside of brass, who makes best Steam engines?

I've had mine for about 10 years, I hope that doesn't end up happening. But I guess if it was going to, it would have by now. *knocks wood* I want to expand my steam roster a bit more and some of the newer Bachmann Spectrum steamers are definitely eye-catchers.
