    A Time to Spend

I'm usually very conservative when buying trains. I'll debate something for months at a time, whether its worth the money, what else I could use the money for, etc. However, there comes a time when I have to stop saving, being cautious, and just get what I want because I've missed many...

    110 guage?

At first I thought it might be the track gauge, but 110 mm is about 4.3 inches. That's more than twice G gauge.

Rooming House - First attempt at weathering

Looks great.:thumb: I particularly like the rust stains coming off of the chimneys. I've never quite been able to make realistic looking rust stains.

    Another USRA Mikado Question

Yeah, the K-2 is a heavy mike, but the one I have is a heavy USRA mike as well. But it has the standard centered headlight and no C&O style flying pumps. It turns out they did have a few that resembled mine, but they were second hand from the Pere Marquette it would seem. I might try to...

Did the C&O ever operate a standard issue USRA Mike without their K-2 or K-3 modifications? I've searched through the C&O historical society photo archive without much luck. I ask because I have a C&O USRA Mike which is a great engine, but I can't help but feel like its a road name...

    Poll: Favorite Steam Manufacturer

Many companies have been good about producing locomotives that are very prototype specific. But like others have said, it means that fewer roadname options are available. For example, when BLI made their Pennsy 4-8-2's, it probably wouldnt have been difficult for them to adapt the drivetrain...

    Poll: Favorite Steam Manufacturer

Like many of you out there, I'm an avid steam engine fan. :thumb: Particularly I like C&O, NKP, and NYC power. Thankfully, in recent years there have been dozens of awesome ready to run models available for those of us who haven't the money for brass. I thought it might be...

    The Misplaced Fans of RR's

Much like a lifelong New Yorker stuck in southern California, unable to watch and attend Mets games, a model railroader away from his favorite railroad is a sad one indeed. Okay, what the heck am I talking about? What I mean is when I walk into an LHS anywhere in Arizona, or California for...

What era draws your attention the most?

All the nicest steam equipment came from the period from about 1910-1945. Give or take :)
