    Tuesday, Do You Operate?

The club I belong to, the Scale Model Engineers, have one and sometimes two operating sessions each month. It is an N scale club, but we are still considering switching over to HO scale at present (It seems there is a time in life when your eyes demand the change to something you can see...)...

    Bachmann Ez-track?

In the HO scale, as long as you use "fine" ballast, you can lay ballast on the roadbed up to the top of the ties and it looks good. HERC DRIVER would really be the one to ask that question, he uses N scale EZ track. Bob

    Modern Marvels: Trains

Herc, If you don't mind, I'll "drop" in a C-130 photo while you get your shots ready. Since Herc is a "driver" and works up front, I thought I'd show the guys our back porch. Herc and the other drivers keep us Loadmasters in the rear... but we don't mind, 'cause it can get pretty exciting...

    Super low-cost air brush

Steve... I think I paid 7.99 for mine (complete with 2 or 3 bottles, an air hose, and airbrush), it looks very much like a Badger model. Since then I saw it advertised on a special for $5.99... Bob

    Super low-cost air brush

I agree, Don... it is one heckava buy. I can't buy two Badger spray bottles for what one entire air brush set costs. Did you check out their dual action air brush? I probably won't use it that much, but it's great for fine detail work. Bob :thumb:

    DCC speaker problem....

Well, Andy... I think you hit it squarely on the noggin'... per your assessment of my sound decoder problem. I e-mailed Soundtraxx, and Alan Lloyd from Customer Service said that since I tested it with a known "good" speaker, he would suspect that it was neither the speaker nor the...

Friday: Where Do the Loads Come and Go?

When I get to that point, I plan to have four industries on my elfin empire... 1) Grain elevator 2) Creamery, Block House, and Icing platform 3) Ore Mine and Mill 4) Stock yard and loading pen area If space will allow, I would also like to add a small Bulk Oil Depot... but that is getting...

    DCC speaker problem....

It is no longer under warranty, and not downloadable.... looks like I better get out the soldering iron and put in a new decoder. I think while I am "in there" I will add a rear light to the tender, and modify the coal bunker area, so it won't be a total bust. Thanks again... Bob :thumb:

    DCC speaker problem....

Well... back to the drawing board !!! I switched speakers and the oval one did the same thing (all sounds except the whistle came through perfect, but the whistle sounds like c--p). Bob :curse:

    Super low-cost air brush

I just bought two sets, one single action and the other dual action... you certainly can't beat the price. Bob

    DCC speaker problem....

Yeah, Andy... I was having a problem with that question, also. I have an new oval speaker, and I'll replece the present 1" round speaker with that later today to see if that is the problem. I'll let you know if that solves the problem.... thanks again. Bob

    DCC speaker problem....

Thanks, Andy... I'll give that a try. It is really weird how clear all the other sounds are and the only the whistle sound is messed up. Bob

    DCC speaker problem....

After being away for quite a while, I fired up my Digitrax system to make sure that all my lokey's were all still singing on the same page... and my Spectrum 4-6-0 is making a raspy sound when I sound the whistle... the bell, chuff, coupler sound, etc are all OK. I popped the tender top and the...
