I still recommend Easy LEDs. They're quality, top-notch strips at low prices. I can personally vouch for them as I know their creator. They're a heck of a lot brighter than those and will not be defective; the maker personally tests each strip he makes before he sends it to Starship Modeler.

Looking good! I can't wait to see the lights in the engine! Word of advice: if you didn't already know it, make sure you build a light box for the engine lights! Doing that will make it easier on you because you won't have to light-block the entire model. Every photon will be contained within...

If you go the gumball machine route, make sure the little capsules are made of styrene, not PFE, which won't respond to glue. An easy way to tell is that PFE is slightly cloudy.

There are perfectly-sized 1 1/4" clear round salt and pepper shakers available at Hobby Lobby. They're specifically made for customization. The only conceivable problem is that they're bisected by a mold seam, but considering the alternatives that's not a bad trade-off. The little refill port...

In the mean-time, I'm working on texturing the Deck Fighter model I built. It's slow going, but with some great tips from imcold on texturing I'm actually making some headway. I'm in school though, so don't expect this one to be churned out like the Star Destroyers were (still working on those).

The Star Wars Miniatures page had tons of free interiors for gaming, but if I understand you right you want the "superstructure" Admiral Ackbar talks about in Return of the Jedi. As far as I can tell, this kit doesn't exist. It'd be dead easy to make, though. Just roll up some red and gray...
