    Well I think the shirt box cardboard for raods is much easier and a lot less messy . Cracks are simply made by using a razor lightly scratching the surface . The lines can be painted on very easy before you put the road down . The drywall rock face sounds good though. think I might try that...

    Do you mean like a rock face hillside ? Spackling works well to cause its not so wet and runny ! Easy to shape

    Yes , I think that would work well that way. That way you have a good solid base. You could even frame the bottom of the plywood with some 1" x ??? to give you some space underneath for wiring .

    9 3/4" is still a pretty standard track radius. I know its readily available in atlas in just about any hoobie store. What brand of track are you using.     That's very good work ! Funny I just built that very same building for my layout , LOL Painted it very much the same too. The ivy looks great though. Mind if I steal that idea. Check out my post , you will see that building , not finished then , in the pictures .

    OK Just a couple of Questions . Who makes a good track cleaning car or train or whatever ? What parts on an engine get oiled and what kind of oil ? What kind of solder is best for the track ? Any help and advise is appriciated .

    Yes the lines are hand painted but I suppose you could do stickers or decals . Yes I did do some curbs and sidewalks , and even storm drains . hard to tell from those pictures . Some of the details are drawn on in pencil too. Cracks are done with a razor and lightly traced with pencil. Then its...
