    Leasing and Trackage Rights

Those are some major (Class I) railroads. ATSF, B&O, etc. I think when it comes to shortlines, if the company is named after cities, they're going to be on the route. In my case, I could still route my line through Wauseon and Norwalk. But there's about 100 miles between them. If I extend a...

    Corners

Get yourself a True Sander from Northwest Shortline... This handy tool allows you to sand all edges square, so joining walls becomes a heck of a lot easier. I had the same problem, until I got one. It's probably the best thing I have in my toolbox right now.

    Leasing and Trackage Rights

First, thanks for the responses guys! Second, the quote above is where I'm stuck. When I created this railroad, the name Wauseon & Norwalk just sort of wouldn't go away. It sounded "railroady" as others have put it, and I like the name. However, after digging deeper into the Ohio industries and...

    Leasing and Trackage Rights

This isn't so much an operations question as it is a business question. If this is the wrong forum for this, please direct a moderator to move it to the right location... I'm trying to redo my freelanced road's history and operating agenda, to make it more believable. It's located in the...

    Fantasy Railroads

Sure! Lot's of guys here (including myself) have freelanced roads. Part of the fun of this hobby, for me at least, has been creating things that "might have been". Click this link, and you can read the made up history of my railroad. Here's the planned paint scheme for my GP-7... I've...

Help me find Ladysmith Rail Display

Your best bet would be to call the organizers of the show. They would have a list of vendors, and contact information for them.

    Airbrush

Airbrush newbie here I'm a research guru, and I did a lot of homework before buying my airbrush. The fine folks here at The Gauge were a great help as well. LongIslandTom and doctorwayne have been especially helpful in this decision. For model railroaders, you're probably looking at two main...

    What a great hobby!

Part of the enjoyment of model railroading for me is the research. I recently purchased the Walther's Interstate Fuel & Oil structure for my layout, and called it "Mackenzie Oil Co." after my daughter (Mackenzie is her middle name). I'm developing a section on my website about the industries...

    Am I Ready to Paint?

I should also note that after I hooked up the regulator, I did some dry run testing. While just idle running, psi was around 40-45. Once I pressed the button on the airbrush, pressure dropped to around 20 psi. I assume this is normal. When regulating pressure, I take it that means at the...

    Am I Ready to Paint?

    Am I Ready to Paint?

I'll elaborate on this a little bit... Canned air, first and foremost, is cold. Cold and paint do not mix well. It's also very inconsistent, and there were a lot of times when the airbrush sputtered and spurted, causing major problems.

    Am I Ready to Paint?

I can get something similar to this from work. I'll have to check out what we use, and I should be able to pick one up fairly cheap.

    Am I Ready to Paint?

Some notes on the compressor I bought: Badger 180-10 (Cyclone 10) - HP: 1/10th - Max pressure: 48 psi I have a question for airbrush users... Will I need to buy a regulator for this, or will adjusting the flow at the airbrush itself be enough? I figure most of my painting will be done in the...

    Freight Car Forwarding.

Thanks for the information, guys! :thumb: My freelance road (set in NW Ohio) could interchange with a few real ones, had it actually existed. I've had some difficulty locating freight cars in the road names I want in N scale. With this new info on how the whole thing works, I can now...

    New Here

I want to know where you found these women. Guess I can't complain too much. My girlfriend pretends to be interested, and doesn't complain about me spending money on my hobby, but she hasn't gotten involved in anything.
