    Clubs and organizations?

I am a member of the Central Arizona Model Railroad club. Currently we are a round robin group. We rent a church hall once a month for an all members meeting, a members swap meet and a show and tell to show off our trains to each other. We also have guest speakers. On the second meeting of...

    New here

I replaced the tender wheels on my Bowker with wheels from a 70s era N scale Bachmann F9. They pressed right on to the stock tender axles. , then I added wipers similar to how Harold Minkwitz does his. Make Easy Tender Truck Pickups

Hi 0-4-0 steamer, Welcome aboard. What kind of V&T equipment do you have? I aquired a box lot of the old AHM V&T locos that I am piecing together. I got one completed and running and a few more pieced together but need to find a few parts. I did some research looking for photos of the...

    HOn30 tank loco

Thanks guys. I don't have any track laid yet. Since I started this project I acquired some HOn3 trucks and rolling stock and I haven't decided which to regauge. As for soldering I am using a 250/325 watt Weller soldering gun. I use Tix liquid flux on the parts, then using a "tinned" tip...

    steam locomotive air compressor piping

I was looking for a diagram I had but can't locate it. Basically you have a steam line coming from the inside of the cab to the top side of the compressor and an exhaust from the other side of the compressor top to the smokebox. On the bottom of the compressor there is an inlet that usually...

    Time to bid farewell...

Wow,:| Seems like an end of an era. It was one of Bob's threads that drew me here to the great group of kit-bashers and scratch-builders (my style of modeling) that were active members at the time. It seemed that most steadily drifted away (or just lurk) for one reason or another...

    Model Power products?

Thanks anyway Wayne, All I need to find are the gears. What I did was power a dummy locomotive using a set of gears from a Roco C424. I was surprised to see they were the same. I have been searching for another set for some time, I can't even find a C424 junker.

    Model Power products?

Wayne, Do you have any spare parts for a Model Power FA or Baldwin? I have an FA that needs a complete set of gears for one truck. It is running with one truck powered and still pulls like a mule. The gears from a Roco C424 will also work.

Q for Ray M. Driver quartering.

I've solved this problem in a few different manors. On one loco I drilled a hole on the driver to axle seam to create a keyway, then pressed a brass pin into it. On others I filed groves in the axle and the hole in the driver, applied JB weld, pressed it together and let it set up. In...

    weird LED phenomenon?

Hi Kevin The LED is getting back EMF from the motor. There was a thread that showed installing a diode and a capacitor to eliminate the back emf. (Can't find it now) I burnt out a few LEDs untill I started using a full bridge rectifier, capacitor and the resistor. I've experimented with a...
