    Weekly Photo Fun 7/27

My family and I took a ride up to Crown King yesterday. Here's a photo I took of some of the switchbacks. If you look closely you can see 3 of the grades. It's hard to believe this was a standard gauge railroad at one time.

Are we running faster and better?

It has been running slow for me, same as mentioned by others above. However, tonight it is lightning fast. I notice there are no ads tonight also. Is that where the problem is?

That was the other page I was looking for. Thanks. I had come across it once and forgot to save it. I buy the old MDC (and Varney knuckle couplers) when I find them to put on some of the old relics in my collection.

    HOn30 tank loco

Hi Elnathan, I was planning to do a how-to on the couplers but got tied up with some other projects. I basically cut the hook off the Rapido coupler, drilled a .040" hole in the center of the face into the shank of the coupler. O then drilled another hole on each side of the first hole. I...

A closer look at the layout.

Here's a link to Don's thread explaining it's origin. The plan is still to get this layout set up and use it to get youth involved in the hobby. One of my friends in the club is into setting up operation schedules and way-bills. I am going to have him evaluate the operation possibilities...

A closer look at the layout.

Thanks Drew. I have to give Don (ezdays) credit for preserving this layout also. If not for his generosity it may have been stripped and in the dumpster as is the fate of most layouts when the modeler passes on.

    Editing old posts

Hi Don, Is it possible to "insert image" the photo that is now linked in my posts? Or will those photos go away at some point? Or should I wait until I can upload directly. What should those of us that have threads in the Academy do? I may not be able to get all mine fixed, I have posted...

    A day late....

Thanks Mike, that does make me feel a little better.:thumb: I've lived most of my life at full throttle so to speak and now that I have backed off a bit and shifted into cruise, I finally had time to think about it. Is this what is called a mid-life crissis?sign1

    A day late....

Thanks. Other than the fact that turning 50 made me realize there are fewer days ahead than behind, it was a good day.
