    Papa Bear's Layout Party

Progress Mama Bear suggested that the lighthouse should go on top of the hill. But there's one thing wrong with that: She didn't anticipate the erosion problem!

    Papa Bear's Layout Party

Change of Direction or "Honey, I Shrunk the Layout!" This probably never happens to any of you, but do you ever get started on one project and then suddenly have the inspiration to do something else? That's what happened with my project layout. Things were going along fine, but then after...

Do you have a Railroad crossing?

Scale lumber works pretty well. Cut it to length and glue it down in between the tracks. Just be sure that the top of the lumber is slightly lower than the top of the rails. I've also built one using the method you've described but used joint compound instead of plaster. It works pretty well...

The ole furrball's layout party pics pt.1

Looks great, Catt! TTRAK sounds like a great idea. It sure would be easier to build and transport TTRAK modules around than more traditional modules.

    Papa Bear's Layout Party

Thanks Guys. Jack, Triscuit may be a small cat, but she's surprisingly effective at moving things around! Stuart, I don't really understand it either, especially at this stage when there isn't anything except bare plywood. I guess it's something else she hasn't jumped on yet. I have...

    Papa Bear's Layout Party

OK, we have lumber on hand and some Diet Dr Pepper in the 'fridge so it's time to get started. This is going to be a 32" x 44" N-scale layout. This is the one that was discussed in the track planning forum and can be seen here. I had started on the benchwork before the party began, but I...
