We have been using two other products for quite awhile, one is Durham putty and the second is made by Decoart and is called sandstone usually found in art supply or craft stores. Both go on the same way with a stipple brush and remember leave well enough alone let your first coat dry fully and...
Doc, this is the same kit I'm working on I'm waiting for my paint to cure before moving on. What did you use to join the pieces? This is my first metal kit. It seems a little to small for HO scale don't you think?? Pat
Catt, I'm not a member of NMRA and would like to know what are some of the biggest advantadges to joining? I have heard people have a STRONG opinion one way or the other about this orginazation. Thanks Pat
Yeah Karl while your not doing anything else you could go out and buy a $10K laser cutter and start selling kits. You if you talk to Rusty he's always looking for ideas maybe you could colaborate with him. Pat
guppyman, I think that would be a great way to save money but then you would have to either cut down the riser the thickness of the foam on top or continue that foam all the way around to keep the same height. Pat
In N scale you could probably get two on one but not in HO your clearances won't make it fit. I would also be careful in N if your radius is to small and you run large cars and locos they could interfere with each other. Test it with your largest car and a pencil draw where the overhang is on...
Gerd this is a great project, but what happened to your LPB and his side kick did they quit their job? Why are you making five? Do you have a shot of a prototype for this and how do you make all the rivets ? Thanks Pat
Val I guess Ralph REALLY like your tug,I think it looks great as well and was hoping you took a shot of the resin pieces as they came to you as this does sound like slow tedious way to have to work. Thanks Pat
Dan I can't believe in all the time I have been here this is the first time I'm seeing this thread . The loci looks absolutely stunning and I was wondering if you could post a side by side shot of the before and after? Thanks Pat
Bob the only thing that comes to mind is maybe to make it look like the top is built from logs but I have a feeling with the thickness of the plywood the logs you would have to use would be way out of scale. The fineness for the lack of a better word of your trestle would be lost I think. I...
Joe & Crystal you have done an excellent job in assembling but as Will pointed out you really need to weather it,( I do most of mine before assembly) Alot of this can be done after but you have to be really carfuel when applying glue as it will not take stain or paint the same way. If you plan...
There one thing I really like about your track plan and that is that you used good old pencil and paper to make it. Please let us see a better version. Pat
